| Nice write up Avril. Love the Fluffy Bunnies bit, and at 4am? Damn!
Also, if you are interested, vote for your day(s) and reply with a range of time that works for you so we can narrow down the best time to kick this off. I think 5pm GMT might be a bit early for our West Coasters. Maybe something around 7-8 or even 9pm GMT, we'll see what members put down. |

| Okay lol. Just as long as Bill doesn't have some wild friday night clubbing with God knows who, lol I think perhaps moving the 1700 time forward 4 hours would be better for everyone? That would mean the operation would start at 4 pm on eastern seaboard, 12pm on the west coast, and for europeans 2100 hrs, gmt0 9 pm. Better for everyone? Yeah? yea. ^_^ |

| Great job on the thread! About those times, thought, maybe we should keep in mind the time that worked for the Falcons VS Crusaders match (1:00 pm EST/1800 GMT?). We had 16 members that time. But I don't know Lol Anyways, it might be a good idea if we start spamming the link to this thread to all the Crusaders or Falcons we can find. I'll start doing that myself |

| Hmm, perhaps we could just agree on a general time slot though lol. 1700 to 2100 seems to accomodate everyone. Hmm, Oh and yes this probably won't be a onetime event so we'll probably do more like it Mekline!, I'm hopeful atleast ^_^ Like the the P4F guys are doing it on different maps I'd like to see us do it on different maps as well. Oh and I've updated the first post with a banner cause I wos bored lol. Added roles that we need and outlined it a little bit better. I also added a letter with several mysterious strike marks. Hmm... I wonder what happened there. Oh and we still need somebody to be leader, cause I just want to organize this thing and send out the invitations ya know? lol. Trister? Nmd? idk lol. I just want to be part of the infantry tbh. So yea! ^_^ I should probably get some sleep... *sips on coffee*... yeah not gonna happen lol. |

Sorry Avril, I guess you didn't read the micro-disclaimer at the bottom that says, you start a topic, you finish it. I'm surprised Sryan wasn't an option. hmm. But sure, I guess I can lead the soldiers... to their death! mwhhahaha

But sure, I guess I can lead the soldiers... to their death! mwhhahaha @TristerOh bother lol it was 3:45 am But of course syran is an option! But yea you should definately look into doing the commander role. Even if it does lead to their deaths (yay more medievac) @Syran Sorry I meant to include you!!!!! @bronx Oh and yep this is a name of one of the campaigns in the single player lol! (Much like Operation Kingfish is one from call of duty!) @deathdealerrr Thanks for all the recruiting you've been doing lately. |

| As far as storage for the video footage, I suggest that we use Amazon's cloud because we can get up to 5GB of free storage. One of the persons in command should just make an email for the account, following with an account name and password for the cloud that can be re-posted to the OP for all of us who are involved. I can record with my computer no problem and if no one saw my last post, I'd love to be the Heli pilot It's almost 3:00am here so I'm not going to pick the dates that I'm available for until later in the morning. |

| Hmm, we'll have to find some compression software though, 5gb will fill up pretty fast . I was talking with somebody who said that they could make 2gb into 20mb... If not we can make a few amazon accounts to get more than 5gb. I was talking with nmd last night and we sort of agreed that the next practice we would look at doing practices of the individual drills of the operation and perhaps pick the helicopter pilot as well. And what we're probably looking for in a helicopter pilot... basically I picture somebody who can fly for an hour and not crash lol. We need somebody with endurance and smooth flying, not so much aerial maneuvers. But yea, consistency and endurance. And if you can film that's a plus cause we'll definitely want to see footage from up there Edit: Added a visual representation as well. If the leader during the operation wishes to change it just ask and I'll cough up the photoshop file |

| I just use format factory (it's free) to compress the video. You basically just convert the video to the same file extension keeping every setting the same. It keeps same video quality and lowers the size a loooot. I don't know if we're talking about the same thing tho.
About practice, I think it's a good idea because I wouldn't like to run into unexpected problems on the actual operation :/ Plus, I think it's a good idea if all of us take some time to review the map together. |

| I've got an unlimited amount of space that we can FTP the video files to/from or images if you wish. I'll provide the information to anyone who wants it. |

| Cool trister! We'll definitely use this And here's something that I need to be discussed cause I've been thinking about it and the outcome of the discussions so far has turned up that we don't really need or want opposition for this event. Thus negates the relative importance of having a helicopter pilot, multiple infantry insertions, and presents a problem of where the directives are coming from. Do we really need a helicopter? If we use the apcs, or amtracks, or lavs, I have no idea which one it is that can float on water... but its the one that can hold 6 people. If we can get one of those to the carrier at the start of the mission we'll have 12 people + 8 people from pontoon boats. That is a complete 5 squads that can be deployed without the need of a helicopter. 20 people. So going from decreasing importance of being filled. APC 1 APC 2 Pontoon 1 Pontoon 2 Helicopter I am thinking that we will only need to make use of the helicopter in the event we go past 20. Because after initial insertion the helicopter pilot really has nothing to do. So like Trister stated, helicopter goes off screen and suicides and comes back with the main squad on the ground. edit: - Code:
-
Then again the argument against it is what I stated earlier, that the helicopter be completely detached from the main infantry group with its own personnel. The communications officer will never leave the helicopter and there will be a recon team of maybe 1-2 with a sniper rifle to provide cover for the main infantry team.
Our focus is ground infantry movement, is it not?Second thing I need discussed... Pre-made fireteams I have an incling that we should start practicing in the teams we will be eventually be playing as. It is pretty much a given that Squad Staff will be leading the teams on the ground(thank god I am not one) so perhaps that throughout the next few weeks you start getting onboard with a group of 4 and start playing in matches. Go on random servers and start communicating as such. If you wish I can start putting up names on the teams on the OP. So if you have a team ready just message me or post here with names and availability. ...well thats all for now. |

| Nobody, if I can help it. We were talking about this yesterday during crusader's practice and having a force that is basically going to be slaughtered isn't really an experience I would want them to go through. And if they do try and fight back it just inconveniences us majorly and we'll end up complaining of it later on. So bad for us. Bad for Opposition.
We'll focus on movement and tactics for now cause it will help for scrims, better how we use communication.
Besides I would say 80% of combat is getting into position. The last 20% is pulling the trigger and that's mostly just player reflexes and personal skill, and we can't really improve on that much in groups. You'll have to do that on your own time. So we'll work on that 80% as a group. |

| PLEASE READ THIS
Ok so now that i got your attention, here i figured out something i should post, some suggestions:
First off, the current voting system for deciding when will the operation be is not good, why? Because i think a lot people will be unhappy with the briefing date. The way everyone should vote i think is like this: Voter will select the day that he is most happy with, that date will get 3 points, then he should select a secondary date that will be ok for him, that date will get 2 points, and lastly he should select a date that he doesn't like and that date gets -1 points. So everyone votes and we calculate the final points. The date that has the most points will be the OP Guillotine date. I think like that everyone will be satisfied.
Thank you for your time |
