I've been disgusted with my generation so far. There's been so many things corrupted about it.

First off, with the technological boom, teenagers across the world are being spoiled brats. They've always been used to what they want and have no idea what life used to be like. They have no idea how lucky they are to even have a home, yet a lot of them complain about them.

Along with technology comes video games. My, do I have a lot to say about this.... First off, I've seen it a lot recently on the news of little kids playing Rated M [Mature] video games. Not people my age, but younger. They've been talking about how it causes violence around the world. One time I was in GameStop and I saw a (literally) 7 year old kid with his grandma. He asked his grandma if he could have Saints Row. A seven year old, I find that saddening. Just like with the release of Black Ops, I've been finding some of the youngest kids I've ever heard online. Just recently I hear a little girl, probably the age of around 5-7 years old, playing it (Either that or it was such a young boy that it sounded like a girl). And about a week ago I heard to 6-7 year old kids that were so young they haven't even developed the squeaky voice yet arguing, saying something similar to this:

Kid 1: "You have a small D***."
Kid 2: "At least I have one."
Kid 1: "I have a D*** too."
Kid 2: "No you don't."

and it continues on..... It's turning kids into ungrateful bullies they'll most likely never get anywhere in life. Of course the government has tried to come up with some kind of law that's constitutional, but it's extremely hard to without limiting the rights of everyday people.

The last thing I have to say are the school trends. I don't mean the everyday popular ones, I mean the ones that are down right dangerous. At my school pretty much everyone is 'Wanna be gangstas'. They go around sagging, trying to talk like gangstas, think they're the center of the world, they can get away with anything, and they try to rap. I'm in the 8th grade, a 14 year old and a person that's 15 almost got arrested. He has a probation officer he has to speak to and whenever report cards are out he says "Yay! I'm not failing!". Last year was the year of the highest drug test fail count. A woman was caught with Marijuana (Weed/Mary Jane) in her car. And about half of the 8th grade is passing only with the incentive of being in athletics, I bet if there were no athletics that at least a handful of them wouldn't even be in school right now.

Well I agree people are spoiled and stuff. It's quite humorous about that athletics keep kids from failing. In europe sports and academics have nothing to do with eachother. If you fail in academics you're kicked out of the team no matter how good you are.

Also it's harsh to say that the entire generation is shitty. I agree myself I was a loon back in the day . But I can't say I didn't learn alot of things and am happy how I grew up.

Please also take into consideration, america once has slavery. Now it doesn't I'm using this as an example that things are bound to change with the progress of man.

Also conversations with alot of cussing is fine. Friends talk to people like that, it's not a big deal. It's the new way of showing affection for one another.

Remember, probably when you were young the adults complained about the next generation?

I only said it was the majority from what I've seen. I know there's a lot of better people (like me) that have had the good fortune to grow up without cussing out my parents or being a total [CENSORED] (plenty of words can go there) that are growing up to being really successful in their life and are actually using the new resources to their advantage.

For me this is a tuff one as i have kids and have a lot of teenage relatives. I am shocked by what they discuss eg. sex, smokes drugs but i sit back and watch the the tv and listen to there music and can totally see the influence seeping through. i don't know who to blame the kids for being little ****s or the parents that let them

Well, as a kid myself i no to talk about that stuff.

But we are mostly making fun of it, because we don't no what it is.(or do we?^^)

As for music, i listen to within temptation(A kinda goth group) but it doesn't make me goth.

The rap from these days contain alot of bad words but it's not their fault for the abusive language by the children.

The reason goth music doesn't affect you is because your brain is mostly developed, so you know what you wanna do in the future. I listen to what my avatar is all the time but it doesn't affect me either.

And whenever you mentioned the part about discussing drugs and other things, I'm pretty sure just about everyone knows about it. I know so many words that would be so unpleasent to mention on these forums......

The reason some people turn into complete [CENSORED] is because of what they do. Mostly it's video games, like GTA and Black Ops. In games like GTA they play it and might say something like "Wow, this game is awesome. I think I wanna do this someday" and for Black Ops they just shoot people up and grow to love those kind of games. It's not wrong, it's just they do that at such a young age that their brain isn't fully developed so it starts to change them. That's why I'm always so shocked whenever I hear little 7 year old kids having a cursing fight because when I was their age I never cursed and I'm not too fond of doing it right now either.

I have being playing games since i was 7 or so. With my first game being Duke nukem 3D.
If you got experience with this game you no that game is full of *bad words*.

Still, i'm enabled to think clear and no how to talk without the use of these words.

And yes, it also makes me sad when 7year olds are yelling in a game .

if i would say about 1/5th of what that kid said in the vid, then my mom would smash my laptop right into my face till it's broken :p but seriously i'm 14, almost 15 and yet i know how you feel. in my school you need to do whatever the trends are or else everyone's ignore's you... aw well i still got my friends :p

im glad i have pass that stage, "the little angry kid", yeah i was one of those "troll" kids.
now that i grew up, 16 coming , i saw how i was ridiculous, and how ridiculous are those Kids playing games that they dont understand, like COD BO, a 7 year old kid would never understand the Political message on it( yea there is, Fidel castro, Cold war References and that kind of stuff), and that create on society a prejudice to some etnities; just follow my think:
a kid playing MW2 will create a image on his head that all russians, brazilians are mean
or a kid Playing MOH , will grow thinking that all middle East is poor and EVIL.

that kind of stuff create more prejudice than any other references, and thats why MW2 , MOH and BO are rated for older people, BECAUSE THEY HAVE A IDEA OF THE POLITICS PRESENT ON THAT VIDEOGAMES

i actually grew up with real gangsters (lots of prison time etc), dressed the part with them and all of that. i still saw it though. the wannabes. they'd get punked by us or beat down otherwise. every generation is the same way though. i definitely hated who i was. so dumb.

My girlfriend teaches kids wth Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties and I occasionally do some contracting with them, teaching specialist aspects of ICT and although the kids we work with are amongst the most problematic in British society I see few things that compare to the things I got up to growing up.

Like Ghostbeer most of my school mates were pretty hardcore and although I walk a different path in my life not a month goes by without one of my friends being up on a firearms / drugs / violence charge or living with a surveillence team following them round such is the profile of the groups they are members of.

I don't think that however well managed or trained to behave someone is matters at all. Part of growing up is learning how to better your life while subverting or evading authority be it speeding on the highway to get to work faster or learning how to avoid hair and fibre evidence at a crime scene.

All I can say is there seems to be a lack of three thing in the youth of today: discipline, responsibility, and accountability. For most of you that posted on this topic, don't take this the wrong way, but until your able to support yourself both financially and emotionally, your not a grown up nor have you "grew up". With age comes wisdom. Growing up I didn't live a hard life, but I also wasn't spoiled, for the age of 8, I worked for my dad on the weekends and learned the values that I have now. It saddens me to see the youth of today having sex at 10, disrespecting their parents, and pushing (often overstepping) the boundaries of mischievious behavior. I for one will not allow my child to behave in such a manner, and it's up to the parents to ensure their kids learn the same.

Its not the jews, what it really is what they are exposed to at the younger age.

Its almost when a baby is born and withen the first few years you attemt to teach him or her to speak and whatever language you speak they end up speking.

I agree with dtiger, none of us have truly grown up yet, no matter who grown up we act or people say we are. I have a job, i work on car interiors as a side job, but when its winter in wisconsin, i guess nobody needs interior work done back on topic, its annoying to see people dress like gangsters as if they think they're cool or act like one cuz it makes them look tough. Instead they fail school and look like idiots. it seems like everyone talks about weed, wether it be jokingly (like myself) or about doing it (not like myself) and please don't get me started on 'legalize it' and all that BS, go smoke a cigar when your 18. god im off-topic today. to go with the 7 year olds playing video games, that bothers me mostly because they don't understand whats truly happening in games like CoD: BO or MOH or maybe even BC2, and their minds are warped through prejudices about other groups of people that they might create from video games like those. and if i ever cussed like that in front of my parents, i wouldn't be on the comp in weeks, PS3 in years, and my PSP would be gone Our generation needs a serious makeover if we really are gonna be 'the future'. don't be hating on the jews >:O

This topic, i agree with, Our world is compromised of many young individuals who do things they are not meant to do. Our world and society changes over time. Children learn things everyday, but not the things not meant to them. Our society has let them known what is what now. Video Games have ratings for a reason, im guessing its just the parents don't know anything. I know when I have a child, I know what I will allow him to learn, and slowly let him learn the rest in time. Many parents just tell the children the things they weren't meant to know yet. Or they dont know that they are. When I play Video Games, it would usually be a shooter/ War simulator, I play them not for the enjoyment of annihilating the enemies on the other side, i see it more as a simulation of being a real soldier under fire, thinking about honor and discipline (and some jokes ^^). But anyways, im guessing kids who play games like these just like the destructive pleasure of killing. which is bad. (in my case)
Also on the case of young adults doing things like smoking, drinking, losing virginity. I made a promise to myself to never drink or have sex until the right time, and i vowed myself to never smoke, because it was the reason I have no grandparents anymore... I wish many others had my values and knowledge, but sadly it is hard to feed a mouth that bites back at you..

I just find it disturbing what technology is doing to us. If you've ever seen the movie Wall-E you'd know what I'm talking about. We're getting lazier and lazier every decade. People know longer run to places, they travel in cars. They no long travel somewhere to talk to someone, that's what the phone is for. It's not just about turning kids into brats it's also obesity. It's been rising and it's higher than ever.

I'm pretty lazy at home but at school in P.E (quit athletics) we have a different coach now, and I swear that the things we do every day are way worse that athletics. We have to do wallsits, hold plank, crunches, push ups, run, run bleachers, and a lot more creative things.

A lot of kids just sit at home all day long playing a video game and worry about if they're gonna level up or get better. They're more worried about the score at the end of the match than the education they may get some day. Mankind will soon realize that it's their own fault to their downfall and the reason drugs, violence, obesity, sex, and lots of other horrible things are on the rise.

I actually love to be active, i loved going to PE to do those things and more.

I acctually, even though im preety lazy now, suffer from anything but obesity im probally one of the atleast "normal" lightest people in atleat the united states of about 1000 peopple
