| So rigs I would be picking between would be: i5-3570k or i5-2500k orAMD fx-6300 or AMD fx-8350 GTX 650 Ti boost (seems like the best bang for the buck (with the fx-6300 of course) 2x4gb ram
But I can't seem to find a motherboard that has good reviews (maybe there aren't any) it seems like most of them are just hit and miss, any suggestions for a good motherboard? $80-$150 range?
Also if you guys think I should go for a higher graphics card please let me know. And is ssd storage better than 7200rpm for gaming? (i assume it is) so would I need to get a 256gb ssd? or something higher?
The stock fan for cpu work fine as long as you don't overclock, correct?
I probably wont even build this until after christmas, as I no longer plan on getting the ps4. So I'll probably pick up all the peripherals and monitor during black friday if I can find some, along with the OS.

| Well I would say my rig is alright: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/18nzE (edit: thanks to quack for the build ) I have the fx 6300 and it goes with that motherboard, not too shabby. If money's the thing go with this CPU I'd say. I got the GTX 660 That SSD you're suggesting will probably cost a lot and plus 256 isn't a whole lot (could do I guess). I have a 500 GB 7200 rpm hard drive and its the worst part in my case according to windows experience index...(in my other computer the 320 GB 7200 RPM hard drive was the best :s) Why don't you build the gaming PC you sent me

| http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1qXOaIs that a good build? I don't really know what to do about the optical drive or whatever. or http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1qXYDwhich is like 200 bucks more, and that's without peripherals. so i would probably go with the 1st one seeing as to how i could get the monitor + the peripherals for the same price as the 2nd without. And bronx, does your gaming rig run bf3 in ultra 1080p? |

| i5 3570k is probably the best one to go for. Motherboards from Asus and Gigabyte are usually good quality. For graphics card, the 650 will probably get left behind quite quickly. I still run a 6850 and get 75 fps on bf3 but I run everything low at 720p. You can get quite good value 670s at the moment, at least in the UK. AMD cards generally have best price:performance.
Only other thing is don't try to save money on the power supply. Do not even think about going for the dirt cheap ones |

| Can you give me an example of a good quality power supply. and the cpu cooler is for overclocking, right? Then the i5-3570k is only good for overclocking? in that case I would probably go with the first build seeing as to how it's cheaper. But I don't think it could run bf4 when it comes out, so I'd probably be better off getting the 3570k in the long run. |

| In the UK i5 2500k and 3570k are the same price now. The 3570 is the equivalent, just a later model, so it is better. |

| You will need an optical drive for CD/DVDs like the OS so might as well put that in--that is only $15-20, not much.
You don't absolutely need a cooler (I don't have one). You don't have to worry about overclocking to run these games with these parts.
That GTX 650 ti seems the cheapest but with really I would go with an AMD graphics card at this point. Nvidia drivers are very...troubling (don't always work with games) and AMD graphics are generally cheaper.
fx 6300 is the cheapest so I'd go with that for the CPU (I use it, perfectly fine with stock fine for PS2, BF3 ultra 1080p graphics at 60+ framerates [well this and my graphics card]) |

| do you think the fx6300 will be able to run bf3? and I would probably end up getting a 7870, anyone know the best brand? would like it to be 2gb. |

I think you mean BF4 and yeah sure it'll run BF4. BF3 runs like nothing |

| Core i5-660 3.33GHz APU A6-3620 Quad Core GeForce GTX 560 Ti Radeon HD 6950
apparently are the reqs for it, so If I got the fx-6300, and radeon hd 7870 or something around that, I could run pretty much every game at about at least 40 fps? |

| and what exactly is wrong with nvidia cards? and what is the best optical drive or whatever it's called? And what is the best power supply for about 60 or less? |

| Those are the reqs for BF4? That's not too much.
Yeah give or take 40 fps. BF3 ultra would run at 60+ fps I bet. A game like PS2 would be a little lower, at least in areas where there's hundreds of players.

| For that graphics card you said (AMD 7000 series) you need a 500W PAU min so that one isn't correct |

| i would go with a amd processer, better for gaming from what ive heard
like: AMD Vishera FX-8350, Eight-Core 4.2 ghz
motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 wich leaves you with enough expanding possibility's for in the future

| I guess just personal experience--nvidia has all these problems with drivers and games not in sync, plus hearing about how bf4 will be optimized for amd and stuff like that has changed my mind.
But in general Intel will be more raw power and performance than AMD but AMD will be a lot cheaper so will be more cost-effective. Both make sense depending on what you want to do with your rig. |

| So what GPUs do you guys have? Should I get a radeon or gtx? All the reviews on newegg have hit and miss. What is the best brand? tc;du version I am having trouble finding a good gpu and psu. the gpu I would like to be under $180 but all the gpus that have like 15 1 star reviews kinda scare me. oh and the psu i would like to be under 60 |

| so should I go with EVGA nvidia card, and have a very reliable brand, Or should I get a radeon and get it from a Hit and Miss brand. because that seems to be the case with all radeon card makers. |
