| Hi guys , as im now in the Graphic and 3D Design, i will have to buy a laptop when i go back to colombia and work from distance. I design mostly on 3D Studio MAX, with Mental Ray as Renderer.
so any Laptop you can recommend me that can qualify to render Fast Mental Ray projects, but can also play good games as i am returning to the 13th Activity when i come back????
right now i have a ACER ASPIRE with a
intel Core i7 2670QM @2.20GHZ
Nvidia Geforce gt540M CUDA 1Gb
and 8 GB of RAM
hardrive of 500GB

| its a good thing you have the i7 which is needed for any graphical design computer. the acer aspire should be enough to render your projects efficiently but it also depends on your budget to recommend a product. |

| Ok, since your budget is so high, price doesn't matter, so here is the best non-3D graphic design laptop I found. I thought that you probably won't need 3D, and specs are virtually the same, so this is one of the best non-3D laptops. Before you see the specs, do know that this monster is just under $2000 (in the middle of your budget): ASUS G75VW-DH72- 1080p, 17.3" display Intel Core i7-3610QM @ 2.3 GHz 16GB DDR3 RAM 750GB HDD 256GB SSD Blu-Ray enabled DVD/CD drive 2MP front webcam and the best part... NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M with 3GB memory It beats your current laptop in every single area. The processor is one of the best out there. You'll never run out of RAM, and you'll have more HDD space than before. One of the smartest things to do would be to use the SSD for 3D Studio MAX. It'll perform a lot better than on the HDD. And wdn, GTX 670M with fecking 3GB of memory will destroy anything. The render speeds with this thing will probably be blazing. And it's probably heavy, so instead of weightlifting at the gym, you can be a bodybuilder by lifting it xD Now I'm sad that I don't have this EDIT: I'm reading the description for this, and it also has a backlit gaming keyboard, dual venting fans with easy-to-clean filters, and a built-in subwoofer. It comes with a free 1-year warranty (at least off of Newegg). And it's not as heavy as I initially thought... it's just around 8 lbs. I guess you can't weightlift with it |

| Specs that the OP listed are ideal for $400-450 US
If the cost is greater than that you're getting ripped off.
If you're US check best buy daily deals (they change daily) and newegg for great offers. |

| insevin, you have a good point, but what if he wants to put that in it though? plus if he goes and gets an Intel setup, best of the best, it will last him a WHILE haha |

| It doesn't have a screen though; I would imagine that paisabun would want to be able to design and render on-the-go also. I looked at the Alienware laptops, but they're complete rip-offs compared to the ASUS G75VW-DH72. If you have the budget, that laptop will last you a VERY long time. |
