To give some idea of size, DICE Designer Inge Jøran Holberg

Bandar Desert is stretching as far as 1,900 meters from U.S. to Russian deployment, not counting the airstrip at the very end of the ground forces combat area. This is even longer than Fushe Pass from Battlefield 2. Bandar Desert is about as wide as it is long at the middle flags – it measures 1,900 meters from the mountain base furthest from the sea all the way to the beach at the south edge of the map.
As a comparison, Caspian Border is roughly 1,100 meters between the U.S. and Russian deployments — around 800 meters difference both in width and length. Should you count the distance between your spawned jet and the enemy spawned jet, you will end up with 2,400 meters on Bandar Desert. From the closest capturable flag to the furthest capturable flag, you are looking at around 1,200 meters. For Caspian Border, the equivalent distance is just about 400 meters.
And for consoles:

At the same time it should be scalable for consoles with fewer players without it leading to compromises for the 64 player version.
I read that a few days ago. It is pretty big for the game and map but if you think about it in real life 1900 meters is only a little more than a mile or a little less than two kilometers.
When I think of this map I sort of thought of the BF2 map: Highway Tampa--always loved the massive tank battles we did with the Falcons on that map with some like 16 MBTs or so total and a total of like 30 some armored vehicles total

At last, they brought snow to this bloody frostbite engine and is worth the wait.
It seems cool like as they have brought some cool map features from the BC2: snow and forest never looked so beautiful what a combination; Bandar desert seems like an idea taken from map Oasis where there is desert on one side and village on the other; chasing jeeps through the narrow passages; black hawk, never saw one or may be blind enough to see.
What a shame, I cannot seem to enjoy those anytime soon.
First, I had a nice connection but no pc capable to run bf3; now it is vice versa.
What a B*****.
Good hunting fellows.
