| for about 500, why not just build it yourself? haha, you could make it better and make it the way you want it for that. (depends though, lol) |

| Lets break this down a little... Firstly, the CPU is most likely the Quad Core AMD FX-4100. From benchmarks, reviews, and even benchmarks I did myself with this chip, it is completely outclassed by Intel's DUAL CORE i3-2100. The memory might be 8GB, but it is not specified at what speed that it runs at, so it could be 1333MHz, or the relatively crappier 1066MHz. As for the video card, it barely runs BF3 on low at a native resolution. You'd have to run it at like, 1024x768 or 800x600 for a smooth experience. The only good thing about this computer is the 1TB HDD, which does spin at a standard 7200rpm. I looked at pictures of the keyboard and mouse, and they look fairly unergonomic. Better off sticking with what you already have. Honestly, if you took the time to build a PC, you would get better customizability, and while the price is decent, you still aren't getting everything from it. and plus, I hate bestbuy |

| AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4GHz - $120 ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS - $55 ASUS EAH6770 DC Radeon HD 6770 - $120 8GB Mushkin Enhanced Blackline DDR3 1600 - $45 520W SeaSonic M12II 520 Bronze - $61 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 7200RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s - $80 Antec Three Hundred - $60 ASUS DRW-24B1ST OEM - $20 Total: $561 Even though this is a bit more expensive, you're getting so much more. BF3 runs at up to 60fps on low, 45ish medium, and despite your processor being last gen, it is still (sadly) better than the FX-4100. The only cut-down is the HDD, which is mainly because of everything else. The power supply is also a very high quality 80+ Bronze Certified efficiency. Lastly, the case is a tried and true thing, as it is extremely popular, and from one of my cousins having one and having tested it, I know that it is reliable in terms of not overheating your parts before they even start working. I wouldn't call this completely better, as it lacks a 1TB HDD and a (relatively crappy, however) keyboard and mouse, but I'd rather look at this as an "alternative" to the $489 PC, as it gives you more performance for (relatively) minor tradeoffs. Also, all prices were from www.newegg.ca. Generally, you will find cheaper prices on www.newegg.com, which is the American Newegg. You might be able to cut off as much as $20-50. |

ebay is meh, you never know if its always under warranty. It sometimes works, i guess, but its better to straight out get a custom built computer from ebay. Parts are best gotten from retailers from experience. :3 |
