| M16 or AN-94? A lot of BC2 forums have got this, but I want to know your opinion. Personally, I haven't unlocked it yet, but when I have had the fortune of picking one up, the M16 is an absolute beast . Not to mention the amount of times it has ripped me to shreds leaving me screaming profanities at my new nemesis . The AN-94's burst seems too rapid for me, I guess this is because I'm a recon at heart and when I play Assault, I try to play as marksman/ warp & ammo base. So even though I have the AN-94, I'm still sticking with the XM8 for now (and I unlocked Mag ammo yesterday, but forgot to try it out, can any of you guys tell me what its like?) Wolfy. |

| I find that with mag ammo, the AN-94 drops folks in two bursts, which exit the barrel in just under one second. The M-16A2 with mag ammo will kill somone in one burst (beast), which takes ever so slightly less time to release. I find the bigger difference (once you get used to rapidly tapping the trigger for the AN) is the jump. The M-16A2 kicks a LOT more than the AN and because you can't fire single shots, you'll find youself busting out your pistol for enemies outside of close range (30 meters). At medium range and long range, the AN is better. In close range, inside of ~20 meters, the AN will kill guys in one burst if you put both bullets in their dome (the grouping is small enough to do this, but too large past 20 meters). I find the gun more versitile as a result and I find myself bringing it with me more often. Neither gun is great at very long range (>100 meters), since they cannot be fired one bullet at a time. That what I think. |

| The M416 is my favorite also. I do like the M16 but its lack of full auto is its downfall for me. |

word. It's more versatile. But... I've started using the M16 (because it's such a bad girl up close) with my smoke kit and boy oh boy... fun in form of steel. |

| I'm moving this to the BC2 forum. This has nothing to do with unit discussion. |

| I know it's my fault, but I have lost to many CQB gun fights with the AN. Same with the M16A2. So I prefer the M416 + grenades or the G3 + C4.
I plan to try t take all weapons to at least a bronze star, but it would require an improved skill set for me to use these burst weapons on a regular basis. |

| I don't like using the assault rifles... all kit weapons FTW! But, I do prefer the AN-94 Abakan. I use the grenade upg. when I use the assault class and then equip the 40 MM shotgun. I like the AN's iron sights more. |

| I like the xm8p because of its damage, and with magnum ammo and a sight of some sort you can do alot of damage |

| M16 and it's not even close. The AN94 is one of the better weapons for sure but the M16 is beastly... |

| I have recently started playing the medic class and let me say this...the M60 up-close sure upsets surprised tangos coming around a corner at close range! Besides equipping a shotgun with slug ammo, it packs a punch from close to medium range. |

| I'd been trying to use the AN-94 after using the AUG for ages and just couldn't get used to it. Haven't actually unlocked the M16 yet but didn't really like it on the campaign.
I might stick with the AN-94 for a while and see if I can improve |
