| Hey guys I just got a new Xbox 360 from a friend of mine, I've never had one before so I was wondering if I could get a quick 'Xbox for dummies' lesson lol. Basically how Xbox live and all that so I can play online. Thanks for helping me out |

It's a pretty simple process really. You create a new Xbox Live Gamertag on your Xbox. It should give you the option of making one to access Xbox Live. The drawback is that you'll have to either buy an XBL gamercard from a store per month, 3 months, yearly to access Xbox Live or purchase it online with a credit card. That's the biggest drawback with XBL, it does cost to connect. |

If it's a brand new Xbox it should have come with a 3 month XBL gold membership if I'm not mistaken. Unless his friend already used it. |

| I believe the trial is only if the X-box is BRAND NEW. If it worked with new gamertags, a lot of people would skip out on having to pay. Hell I would keep chaning my tag for the freebiez, but sadly, that doesnt work. The prices for the live cards are: $9.99 for 1-Month $24.99 for 3-Months $59.99 for 12-Months You could also contact Insevin, and see if he has any cards for sale. He could give you a discount on them. Look foward to gaming with ya, Rusty. If you get COD on the 'box, anyway.  |

| Thanks guys. Yeah he had it for about 4 months I think so no XBL for free for me lol. I am getting COD on it as well once I get it running. another question for y'all...what's the gold Xbox live thing? Is that what I'm buying to play online or is that something else? |

Xbox Live Silver will be free for all Xbox 360 owners with broadband and a hard drive or memory unit. Silver subscribers will be able to:

•Access Xbox Live Marketplace downloads and Xbox Live Arcade games (premium content will still require payment to be downloaded)
•Create Gamertags and Gamer Profiles
• Use voice and text messaging
• Download new levels for games
• Watch (but not participate in) multiplayer online gaming

Xbox Live Gold
