| I'm no doctor but I'm pretty sure Bloodclots aren't caused by 12 hour gaming sessions. |

| Longest i have ever gamed was 26 hrs, it's unlikely that the gaming killed him, he probably was someone with health issues and such, but now the media will blame it on gaming to get another "good" story.
Sad for the person, but give this fact 2 weeks and almost nobody will remember what happened. |

| a blood clot is usually caused because blood is clotting on a damaged part of the endothelium ( the inside of your veins ) wich then shoots lose, causing embolism, or when more severe, infarction. In other words, since there are no activities that promote formation of damages on the endothelium, its impossible to relate the gaming session to his death. this disease is a draw of the card, it can happen to any one, any second. It could even be caused because he broke a bone years ago ( Fat-emboly syndrome, where bone marrow caused the infarction/embolism ) however, the life-style that often revolves around people who hold 12hr gaming sessions could increase the odds against this man, despite his young age. and no I am not a doctor as well |

| "After my research I saw there was no difference to Chris sitting at a desk on his Xbox and someone on a long-haul flight. Sitting still is literally the danger zone." - David Staniforth, Chris' father. I completely support him.
Game Informer: "DVT involves the formation of blood clots during those periods of immobility, and can be fatal if the clots travel to the lungs. While Staniforth's father David doesn't necessarily blame video games for the death of his son, he hopes to raise awareness for DVT and its dangers."
Just move a little every hour guys... or everytime you see a loading screen hehe. |
