Just wanted to see what everyone looks for in a gun... generally speaking. Meaning not class specific.

A gun with punch, accuracy and a good rate of fire. I just described the SAW didnt I? Or the M60 (My fav!)

I chose Rate of Fire even though that only applies for my pistol choosing. (Unless I am able to obtain a Rex).
For my main weapon, I think it all depends on a number of factors, just the best combination of them. Like, what good does damage do if it has no range and stuff. The MP5 was an ideal gun for me since I could kill someone at so and so range with like 3-5 bursts. The UMP however, at the same range, would take me noticeably more bursts, such as 4-7.

with my assault class I look to the damage per second and accuracy.

AEK for my Assault maybe a Veteran instead for more ammo and more of a kick in each bullet, but the M16A2 is a balanced weapon with more accuracy and a conservative fire mode. The pistol I would choose is the MP-443 as a result of Rate of fire over Damage.
The MP7 would have good damage and rate of fire and high accuracy but low on ammo. I would have chosen UMP-45 but it's a BF weapon, I hate it The pistol I would choose is a high damage one like the Rex or the M1911.

I wouldn't good with the UMP-45 anymore Believe me... Anyways, If I can choose, I usually look for the lowest recoil on weapons. But it's not possible to try all guns, and the recoil isn't shown on the stats of this game
