| So the second tournament round is over. Both NA and EU progressed to the next stage. Great work everyone.
However, as I listened in phantom mode on Ventrilo to the NA team fight on Sharqi, I heard people there being quite concerned about shotguns, specifically the auto-shotguns.
So I think a discussion regarding the best auto-shotgun/team ratio is warranted.
From my experience on Sharqi, auto-shotguns aren't actually that good. The instances of literally running into the enemy are quite rare and the average firefight actually takes place at ranges just outside shotgun range, certainly outside the USAS-12 lethal range where it can kill in 2 shots.
This being said, the person tasked with securing the home base can put the USAS-12/Saiga to good use. The Eagles used a Recon with Elite USAS-12 and did very well. |

| I guess there shoulda be da x12 opticz for usas on icebox's gun!
I actually don't believe in reign of shotguns. Yes, they do deal really hard dmg in close quarters, but +1 to Dacian, they are rare cases. And more, sometimes guy who IS NOT pro at shotguns gets kicked by NOT pro at smgs or even mgs! Not reminding u of cheater's AEK-971. So you should only buy shotties if you are absolutely sure you're pro at them and if there always is a 2 man along with u to go for med-long range. |

| Personally I think 2 autoshottys on a 8 man team is more than enough to get the job done on Sharqi, and the most effective use of them is as a point man when assaulting a base OR as a base defender. The classes that can most effectively use them are the Assault as the point man, who can resupply as will burn through ammo fast moving through enemy territory and use RR to call teammates to help cap a flag. And Recon as the base defender, place clays to control/weaken enemy attackers, can motion sensor the area to know WHEN to open up on the enemy before they know your there. And for the love of god get a GOOD pistol (personally recommend the elite M1911) to deal with targets out of the kill range of the shotgun, and it acts as a good backup should you run out of ammo (hence why I say the M1911).
A useful skill for the shotgun user is dead mans trigger. It may be cheap, but your already using a cheap weapon, youll likely die alot with a shotgun and that last little farewell to your killer can make all the difference if you die on a flag.
And a final statement of the obvious, go elite, 4 extra shots and a lot more damage makes a load of difference, and in effect increase the kill range of the USAS. |

| yeah, assault for well, assaulting flags lol and Recon with an auto shotty is a great base defender on sharqi. With claymores and senors they can camp out the base alone and at least inform teammates if someone slips by in enough time to keep it protected if teammates respond well with my new scar im not that worried bout shotty people unless they pop out on me face to face, and its just natural to get mad about that. I'mma complain no matter what when an auto shotty comes out at me xD its just not right |

I just had to laugh But like Shady said, I think 2 would be enough; I mean that's all they had right? Greatskills and that Torquemando guy or whatever. I think in a 1v1 matchup with my MG36, I could beat everyone almost all the time except for those shottie guys. |
