they're leaving shuttle launches to the moon to private companies. Once they figure out how to get people on mars and asteroids, thats the next time you'll see a shuttle launch from Cape Canaveral, that place is gonna get hit hard. I was explaining to to a couple people, when they shut down apollo the Space Program was about 65% of the economy down there, they're shutting down USA now, and it's not as bad as when they shut down apollo, but it was bad enough for the government to put money into programs down there to try to create jobs. Discovery was about 45% of the economy, most of the people I know that live down there either moved to Orlando because they couldn't find a good enough paying job, or relocated to a privately owned company that is trying to get shuttle contracts. They call it the Space Coast for a reason. My uncle that lives down there says houses where he lives, which is probably a 20 minute drive from the beach are about to tank under 100k a house.
