You admit to understanding the world? You are not of legal age of consent yet. You have not even begun to live. You say that you are more grown up that most adults, yet you whine about trivial problems of "bullying" and unable to accept the problems that life throws at you. Trust me, right there just proved to me that you don't understand the world and that you aren't "grown up". |

"Give me the strength to accept the things I cannot change, and the strength to change the things I can." Accept that the world can be mean, that it can be harsh, and that you are only one person. Then instead of destroying yourself over this revelation... use it to better yourself and to better everyone around you. Not this pessimistic world view that leads to self-destructive behavior. I admit to not knowing the world. How can I expect to understand all the facets of existence within the brief 18 years I have been on this earth. When I hear a preteen say that they "know" the world, all I hear is bigotry. I guess what I'm trying to say is... Just be FREAKING HAPPY AND GET OVER IT. |

If you want to go on about semantics I can correct you on about 50 misspellings and grammatical mistakes. Didn't you admit to being suicidal at one point? My point is proven about your pessimistic world view. And you think the media would gain popularity by putting up news about how the world is perfectly fine? No they gain viewers because they feed of the paranoia of the viewers. And that is not to say that bad things happen but what are you going to do about it? Cry in a little corner and curse the world? What a PATHETIC way to go about living. |

"It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it" Just because the media has influence doesn't mean it has to influences people's perceptions. People can be aware of what's going on and discuss it but they don't have to accept it. - JuniorGando wrote:
- on this school we get prepared on university and how ,much we'll need to work in our life. so don't tell me that if it causes so much anxtiety, i will break when i figure out how hard life is.
If you research varying opinions, critically review any and all pertinent information, and discuss it..you should be able to make an informed/educated decision. THESE are the types of skills that I learned in college. They're also ways of preparing me for the world. If you feel like you're under the pressure constantly at your "elite" school, maybe it's not for you. I'm a product of the public school system, yet I consider myself intelligent and educated. Just because I didn't go to an "elite" or "private" school, doesn't belittle my argument. With that said, I do agree that you have a different view of the world being the age you are. You've got different experiences and I'm not saying they're wrong. However, you also have limited experience and because you have a pessimistic view of the world, you'll probably won't take that many chances. This will ultimately lead to you staying inside your own "box" and not trying to take on new perspectives/ways of thinking. To me, it seems whatever school you're currently enrolled in is doing you a great disservice because you've taken on such a hostile view of the world. The world is extremely complex, but yes..it is dangerous and doesn't come without it's low points. However, you've made a conscious effort to ignore the goods things and focus on the bad. How does that prepare you for the world? |

| Given the seriousness of the discussion of suicide I reckon that the following might be wise :
Junior Gando, if you feel like you feel then you should seek some professional help. In the first instance why not talk to someone at your school ? You could also talk to your Doctor, who'll be more than happy to point you in the right direction of some support. It's hard growing up when you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders and there are people that can help your through it.
As for Liam :
I know you mean well, and toughening up is an important part of life, but there is a point past which even shaking someone doesn't work. I think Junior is past that point and it might be hazardous to both of you to carry on trying to reach him the way you are trying. He'll just lump you in with the people that have already caused him anguish when you don't deserve to be there. He can't see your body language over the internet so you come off to him as a bullying troll, rather than someone trying to mentor him. |

| Life ain't perfect, but it has good moments. those moments come when your not in need of them. Yet if i'm hoping to get a GF i'm not going to get one. Yet, if i'm focussing on something els, the GF wil come to me. i've seen some S*** in my life too, and i'm not going to talk about it here. Yet, my Ex-Gf is the only one i care about. she cares about me too. Once i said i'm going to kill myself(it was in flurry of sad events and now i'm happy so no problems ) She said: no, not without me. If you would kill yourself, i would too. That sentence is engraved in my head and i no that i won't kill myself EVER. So ya, life isn't perfect, but it has some good moments and those are worth to live through! |

| We all have a purpose in life. I used to be deeply depressed. I felt as though I was drowning, and nothing would save me. No way out, backed up against a corner. I had kept all my emotions in, and I was emotionally unstable. I had thoughts of doing horrible things out of emotion, things that I myself, would never do. The emotions had started changing me into something I wasn't. I didn't know how to live life anymore and I sincerely saw no purpose or reason to be in this beautiful world. I had suicidal thoughts, and tendencies. I was betrayed by my two best friends and left to die (metaphor). I never told my parents about it and I wanted revenge on those responsible.
Then, one day I had woken up and forced myself to accept all the horrible things that f*** you in the *** and to move on. I then believed that I had a purpose, a reason to be alive, and that god had prepared me for what was to come in life. I knew, that even though life can be s*** I was gonna keep on living for the sake of becoming whatever I'm destined to be. I turned everything bad into something amazing and it only took my new best friend to see that. I had always wondered if I could be like her, with a smile on my face everyday, even if someone had just died. To always be in a good mood and to be nice to anyone and everyone no matter (in any way) how bad they may have wronged me. Because revenge, vengeance isn't right. It's not about what's fair, it's about what's right. What's supposed to happen. It doesn't matter if I die, as long as it's for a good cause.
Everything happens for a reason, no matter how stupid you may think it is. The bully(s) could move to a new place, thinking he could bully at that school, and then get caught and he would learn that bullying is wrong. God is trying to prepare you for the outside world, and your future by making you learn early, the raw cruelty this world can hold. He is wanting you to overcome it and win. Yes, it's really hard, but just like exercising it makes you stronger, and to overcome future obsticals because of past experience.

When a celeb. suicides or do something bad whole the world os schocked, but who would miss a 14 year old teen who hasn't a clear future and might cause problem to the society? if you think of that.... well then i don't have much hope for humanity. i now won't respond anymore on you're respond on this, cause i'm,really not in the mood for this kind of stuff. |

If your father is your Doctor, you should be able to get assistance through your Primary Care Trust or equivalent. Whereabouts do you live and I can signpost you towards someone who'll talk to you. Edit : I presume from your Bio you live in Belgium. There is an English Speaking Helpline here : +32 (0) 2 648 40 14 . I don't speak Dutch or French so I can't find you a service in those languages but I presume these people will be able to point you in the right direction. |

| What you need to do to deal with people like that is ignore them. Of course, they already know that it still affects you so you tell them to shut up. Don't get depressed, get pissed at them. Make them angry. Tell them to shut the f*** up and get outta my face. Then, if/when they throw the first punch you make a big deal out of it where EVERYONE in the classroom notices. Then he get's in big trouble for beating the sh** outta you. You just gotta make sure he gets you good because then he'll be gone a lot longer and get in more trouble. |
