i dont think it will end soon, because one of the Characteristic of the FARC is that the can Re-organize Very quickly and hide in the Rain Forest for Months before they go to action. sooo

I suspect that would just end up in a lot of dead Peacekeepers. FARC are amazingly well organised, trained by Russian Special Forces and cross pollinated with the IRA, ETA and many others they started trading Basuco and Yayo during Escobar's time and grew in power when the Cali Cartel took over.
Peace will only come to Colombia when Farc and others get political power and the lust for corruption and the ballot box becomes more powerful than the bullet.

they tried to do a deal on a Demilitarized zone of San Vicente del Caguan during 1998 to 2002, but there was no Deal after all, and the conflict still going, also US tried to Set Military Bases , but the Petition Was rejected by the Senate( i agree with it, US can help, but no need to set Bases, i dont want to colombia be another Vietnam), i think the only way to this Conflict ends is to give to the FARC a Political party if they Drop the Weapons and Surrender.
