Here are some trick's Ive picked up on, I hope they help some of you.

A guns natural recoil will cause the gun to rise when shot, so start by aiming low on the initial trigger pull, this will cause the next wave of bullets to be in the kill zone of the target.

Keep moving in figure 8's or quick J hooks. This works particularly well on maps that are vast and/or brushy (Laguna Presa/Atacama desert) This serves 2 purposes: 1: prevents any would be sniper from getting a solid bead on you. 2: Allows you to duck into cover should a person be following you and trying to shoot you (duck into cover, make a hard right or left while in cover and come out behind the poor smuck for going straight.

Should your opponent be chasing you into a building to kill you, toss a grenade against the wall (it will bounce back toward you) as your run through the door, you'll often get a nice nade kill as he pursue's you to his death. Note this doesn't always work, but chances are if he already has your number, your gonna die anyways, might as well give it a shot.

Keep your LOS wide as much as you can, especially out in the open. This is not at pronounced as the figure 8's but again keeps you from being a sniper's victim by moving you in an S pattern and gives you a better feel for your surroundings (works well if you are mashing the spot button as well) This doesn't work well if your taking direct fire, but a few zig-zags might help if your trying to get to cover, but again if they have your number, kiss your *** goodbye.

Hope these help.

some good tips D. i've actually used some of those and getting more into the skills of constant movement. it's too easy, not for just snipers, to get a bearing on someone who runs straight.

i've noticed a couple as well:

-even if a kill seems 100% possible, how much are you giving away your position? i tend to analyze this constantly.

-i have not tried that grenade off the way trick, but i do get people to follow me into buildings, then duck quickly behind the doorway or in a corner and aim right at the door or have your knife ready. very simple. people just run in thinking you went up stairs or are chilling in there without knowing they are coming. i'm sure they hate it when they realize they are dead due to a setup i just pulled.

-grenade launcher combination - u can toss a hand grenade in the air towards a building you know is being occupied by an enemy. toss it, then launch the grenade launcher at the same buidling. if you do this properly, the 40mm grenade launcher will hit the building before the hand grenade gets there. if the enemy isn't killed from the 40mm, the hand grenade is right behind it. surprise!!!

-use grenades to get a sound out of the enemy. if a building or another hidden spot seems shady, toss a grenade. the computer voice on the enemy will yell out 'get down grenade' or in the other languages you will hear something. 'oh shnikey grenada'. whatever. but you learn someone is nearby.

-motion sensor freak out - toss a motion sensor towards a building that isn't even close. if enemies are in there they will come out thinking a sniper is very close due to the beeping. they will come out looking for you, but don't realize you are actually far away. BOOM! give them the headshot they need.

-knifing a door or fence - (even while jumping) hit the knife stab button a second or 2 before you get to the target. for instance, hit knife before you jump through a fence. since there is a delay, by the time you jump the knife is out and you aren't sitting there as a target waiting for your knife to cut through. this is great on doors too. cutting that extra second off of your time to wait for your knife swipe to open a door to a building can save you from death.

-reload even if you have a few bullets missing from a full clip. of course do it at convenience from getting killed and have a hand gun ready just in case you get attacked while reloading. i don't know how many times that extra bullet from a reload saved me.

-bank shots - there are many cliffs, trees, etc. that you can ricochet grenades off and get an angle on a toss. it's also nice to use these items for other explosive devices to cause a blast to kill. use them to your advantage and get the angles down.

-maps with many trees blocking view - take them down any means possible. this is especially good wtih heavy mgs and maps that you are defending and cannot see the enemy well. mow the trees down and eliminate their cover. grenade launchers and hand grenades help too. most sniper rifles can take some trees down too.

-make sure you have hand guns down pat. i can't tell you how many times it makes a difference in dying or not. when in a gun battle 1-on-1 or more, it seems most people decide to wait on their rifle/machine gun reload. have ur handgun ready to win this battle.

just some random tips i could think of. i'm sure there are more, i'll add as they come to mind. hope they can help.

I'm going to disagree with you on this one. Reloading after every kill will only end up getting you killed from someone you didn't originally see attacking you while you are reloading. Having to quickly whip out a pistol and shoot them before they are already trying to kill you is unnecessary when you could have just emptied the rest of your clip into them.

Eh I'll go with ghost on this one. With lag and stray bullets you never know how many it will take to kill the enemy. Add to that the next enemy you see might be with a friend and those extra bullets help. I do however would say it mainly applies to smg, and assault rifles.

Well yeah I'm saying reloading only after a few bullets are missing...I definitely reload after a kill if I don't think there are enough bullets to kill left in the clip

Ive been playing BF: BC2 for quite awhile now and ive come across some useful tips. Enjoy!

#1 – Spot spamming
I like to scan the area by scanning the field and spamming the spot button. Gives location of the enemies whereabouts and help teammates wipe em out. Its pretty useful in hardcore mode as well cause if there is an enemy, your character should have indicated it by saying something like ‘we got eyes on enemy here’

#2 – Scan the whole map
As a recon, you are equipped with motion sensors. Throw them across the whole map and you should get a nice reading of the multiple enemy positions. This might be useless on hardcore mode as it eliminates the minimap

#3 – Smoke grenades
These things are awesome. Smoke out a whole building to provide cover for your team. Especially helpful in rush. You should always stay in a nice, secure spot, drop an ammo pack down (2 grenades aren’t enough) and lay down some smoke. Most of the time, your team will pick up on what youre trying to do and act on it.

#4 – Pulse the repair tool
If you jam the repair tool, the thing will overheat while you are repairing. 1 – it’s really annoying. 2 – GODDAMNIT, I NEED TO REPAIR THIS THING! Time your pulses right just before it

#5 – Constant reload
After you’ve shot a few rounds, make sure you’re clear and reload (except if you are a medic). Even if it was just like 2 pulses. You never want to be caught reloading while duelling it. Also, there might be a couple of people who’ve just spawned on that guy and are just waiting around the corner

That is where reload cancelling comes in, if you're reloading and you see someone, tap YY or triangle triangle and it will bring you back to the bullets you had in before you reloaded.

Yep, when you're reloading say a M249 or a Type 88 LMG, when the # of bullets shows up on the screen from 0/200 --> 200/200 but the animation is still playing... DOUBLE TAP Y or Triangle! It cancels the animation but gives you the rounds ready to go!

Also, if you're caught in a mid-reload but you still have 10/30 rounds in the magazine you can DOUBLE TAP Y to cancel the reload in a pinch to suppress any last moment or pop-up enemies!

i figured a new one out recently as i wanted to start getting a bit better with an engineer setup. you can blast a carl gustav quickly at a target. slap it with a tracer and since you are already in direct LoS with the tracer, quickly switch to your secondary and launch that sucker without scoping it. BOOM!!! works very well. if you're lucky, you will get the last blast taking out that tank and get yourself a quick 200+ points, depending on how many fools are in it.

beginning a 'parachute-in' round:

sometimes you can get shot at from afar by the defending team. if you already have a squad member parachuting in, you can spawn on them. it WILL NOT have your parachute deployed, but you will be dropping fast. you can spam your chute when you are closer to the ground avaoiding all of that crap. it's also fun to beat your homie to the tank. lol

Its all in the mindset too guys.

Every squad member needs to be pliable, malleable, and versatile.

I iterate. The best squad or let alone team does not have any one person sticking ONLY to a single role throughout ALL the games. The best squad or team have people saying "what do you need me as? Okay, I can be that no problem."

For example: "Hey, I'm a sniper, I don't like assault rifles or LMGs, I like long range combat." WRONG! The Recon class has much more to offer than just a long range.

Get out there do things differently that you wouldn't do! Be a medic and provide covering fire while reviving, and stay behind cover. Use the gunfire to mask other's footsteps (after all, you do have the boomstick)

Be an engineer, get up close and personal, get stealthy, go out and repair stuff while taking down armor. Set some traps with the mines.

Be an assault. When enemies gather, hit em with the 40mm GL, provide smoke, or blast enemies as close range with the 40 mm shotgun while all the while you are providing ammo to a medic providing covering fire a few feet away from you.

As a recon, do some friggin' RECON! Sensor balls? HELLOOOO! Get up close and personal with the C4 or take down some obstacles and buildings with the Mortar.

THERES A MYRIAD OF WEAPONS AND OPERATIONS STRATEGIES.

Watch this video on how not be a BC2 Noobie. (Pay attention you MW2 maggots graduating into a big boy's game -- this s*** gets real)
