Hello, I would be happy to show everyone how to do the above, here goes. You can use Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari for this. I will use Mozilla because it's the best!
Section 1:Making a desktop shortcutStep 1:Go into your programs and copy your Internet Browser. Don't use the safe mode, you might need it in the future. Then right click on the Mozilla Firefox folder (or any other browser) and click paste. A file named
Mozilla Firefox - Copy or
Mozilla Firefox(2) should come up. Then right click on that and select
Properties.
Another option: If your computer doesn't support the program copy and paste things, you can use (Safe Mode) if you like, there's a rare chance you will need it anyways.Step 2:Something like this should pop up. Select
Change Icon and click
Browse in the new window. Then go to the Battlefield Heroes root folder. The default for 32 bit systems is
C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield Heroes/ or for 64 bit systems it is
C:/Program Files(x86)/EA Games/Battlefield Heroes/. Then when you are there, click on the file named BFHeroes. Select
Open and then click
OK. Now click the
General and change the name to Battlefield Heroes. Go back to the
Shortcut tab and go to the
Target box. Don't erase anything, but 1 space after the last character of the text already in there, put
- Code:
-
http://play.battlefield-heroes.com
Now exit the window, but don't forget to press
Apply or
OKIF YOU PICKED THE OTHER OPTION: In the target box, erase everything after the last " in the target, and 1 space after that add this: - Code:
-
http://play.battlefield-heroes.com
Step 3 Now for the easiest step of all, just making a shortcut.
Now just right click on your new program and click Send to > Desktop(create shortcut) or however your computer does it. Congratulations! Section 1 is complete!
Section 2:Connecting it to SteamThis section is fairly easy, its only several clicks.
If you don't have Steam, you can download it
here if you want.
Step 1 Just go to the
My Games tab, and click
Add non-Steam game... Then look at all the programs that start with a B, and there should be one saying Battlefield Heroes, but with the browsers icon. Click
Add selected programs. The way to get Steam in game to work is to put in the URL
- Code:
-
http://play.battlefield-heroes.com
a space after the already inputted target. Then you're good to go!
Step 2: OptionalIf you really want a Battlefield Heroes icon next to the Steam shortcut, do this. Right click on the
Battlefield Heroes shortcut and click
Properties. Then at the top of the new window, select
Choose icon and for 32 bit systems go to
C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield Heroes/ or for 64 bit systems go to
C:/Program Files(x86)/EA Games/Battlefield Heroes/. There will be 2 icons of Battlefield Heroes there, pick whichever one you want. zfinster:

- Great tutorial man thanks
Here are some better icons though, the one that the tutorial says to use is kinda blurry and lame P: here a link to better ones

download these extract em to desktop (or anywhere you choose) and then go to your bfh icon, properties, change icon and select the picture
He is kinda right, download it, extract it somewhere, and just open that instead of the Battlefield Heroes icon.
Conclusion Now you can launch Battlefield Heroes from your desktop, or start it in Steam and/or access your account and friends while playing BFH.
Note: To make it work for Steam in game, you have to close all internet browsers. Steam has to be the one to initially spawn the browser to the website for it to work, not just open in another tab. Just press Shift + Tab while you're in game. You're welcome, enjoy! And again, happy to help!
