| Image by: Trister Battlefield 3: Beta is Official! Written by: SGT TristerEA and DICE has officially set the Battlefield 3 Beta date to Sept. 29th! And the map is... yup, Operation Metro. Those who pre-ordered BF3 digital and bought MoH Limited will have early access on Sept. 27th given those 48hrs more beta. The Beta is set to end on Oct. 10th, giving players 10-12 days to put it through the test and try it out. With this you'll also be able to use and try out the BattleLog. The Beta will automatically appear in the Playstation Network Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Origin Demo page. For PC, you must install the Origin client found at www.origin.com/download in order to play the beta. On consoles, you simply download the beta and play. In case you've missed it or wondering if you're PC can handle BF3, here are the minimum and recommended requirements: Minimum OS: Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) 32-bit PROCESSOR: 2 GHZ Dual Core (Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHZ or Althon X2 2.7 GHZ) MEMORY: 2 GB GRAPHICS CARD (AMD): DirectX 10.1 compatible with 512 MB RAM (ATI Radeon 3000, 4000, 5000 or 6000 series, with ATI Radeon 3870 or higher performance) GRAPHICS CARD (Nvidia): DirectX 10.0 compatible with 512 MB RAM (Nvidia GeForce 8, 9, 200, 300, 400 or 500 series with Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher performance) Recommended OS: Windows 7 64-bit PROCESSOR: Quad-Core CPU MEMORY: 4 GB GRAPHICS CARD: DirectX 11 compatible with 1024 MB RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950) Other news in an interview by IGN and DICE was stated that Mod tools are being discussed in the stuido in response to the mod community cries in having no tools. It's a huge investment, complicated, and concern, security-wise. With mod tools can possibly come more hacks in which DICE is looking at ways to limit this issue. Frostbite 2.0 has been a huge thing and starting to become integrated at EA. DICE borrowed the ANT technology from FIFA to make their character animations more life-like. While other franchises are looking to borrow Frostbite technology to make their games better. NFS:The Run has implemented FB2.0 as a base within their game. Adding "better" vehicle phyics to the engine, sine all NFS does in vehicles. As well as EA is also passing around their Sports' flagship animation. Upcoming games could start getting a face lift in every aspect with BF3 being the first of them.

| OH WHAT Kubrten?!? You better starting saving up pennies and upgrade. Yeah XP doesn't do DirectX 10 and I believe it is not backwards compatible. Meaning the game won't drop to DX9. |

| Guys the beta is just for the ones that pre-ordered BF3, i've just check it, how? well first I did one of Trister-don't-like search for downloadable sites of the Beta, the search was useless, maybe 2 or 3 days after the release of the beta you could find some...cracked copies [warning-warning-banning inminent-TBB], but I doubt they could be played online.
Second thing I did was..the only thing I could, pre-order the MFK game in origin, till now everything's fine and Beta is announced to be enable to download at September 29, I've just for the doubts also bought the BF2 Collection to test the download system and everything's fine (add me at the BF2 Friends!!)
The requirements for this game are crazy, I just bought a Phenom X4 955 and a new set of Corsair Vengeance 4 GB (yeah that's right migamer!!) But I think My old DDR2 Mushkin and Athlon X2 5000+ would also handle it in low res with minimun effects.
See you on the BF3 field!! |

| Beta is open for all on the 29th. 27th is only open for pre-ordered and MoH as the article states, and as battlefield.ea.com states where I got the information from. Pre-order and MoH http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/battlefield_bad_company/archive/2011/09/23/your-battlefield-3-open-beta-questions-answered.aspx - Battlefield.ea.com wrote:
WHAT ARE THE DATES FOR THE BETA? The open beta starts September 29th on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. Those that have already pre-ordered the PC Digital download version of Battlefield 3 through Origin or own the Limited/Tier 1 Edition of Medal of Honor for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or PC, will have early access starting on Spetember 27th. The open beta ends on October 10th.
WHERE DO I GET THE BETA? On Playstation 3, the Beta will appear automatically on the Playstation Network Store. On Xbox 360, it will automatically appear on Xbox Live Marketplace. On PC, it will automatically appear in the Origin application's demo page.
HOW DO I INSTALL THE BETA? On console, you simply download the beta and play. On PC, you first install the Origin client (Direct download, 47MB: www.origin.com/download ) and then install the beta from within the Origin client. More details will be available here before the beta starts. |

| Sources and EA are saying the download/codes will be released during lunchtime. Not sure when EA considers it to be lunchtime or what TimeZone their are referring to.
"This is an automated system that sends a bunch of emails out every hour starting around lunch today. For those who want to gain access via their Medal of Honor purchase, you don't need to have the disc to hand. Halling explained via Twitter, "You just need to have entered the online code for MOH on your account." |

| Before you? You're like 11 hours ahead of me.
I went to Origin 2 hours ago and nothing was there, nor do I have any emails of it. Perhaps it's player's local lunchtime. So I should get something within the next 3-4 hours. |

| Yay, I just got the email. It's from Battlefield 3
So check your junk mail.
Now to ditch work, get home, download, and play... umm yeah ok. Guess I'll just have to wait another 6 hours.
Although kind of early for lunch, this is more like brunch time.
I'm unable to log into Battlelog. It says "Your account is not allowed to login"
I'm currently waiting in line at Ea Live support. My current number is 1187 and average time is 40 minutes. Damn!!!!! |
