Well I was told you P4F boys are great with tactics. If at all possible could I get some pointers to help out the Seminoles BF3 squad? Thanks for any and all help.

I think any basic training would apply here. Stack up medics behind assault, call out targets and mark, and always, always, always, lay down med packs. If you just want to practice, two man hit squads make great practice material. Set up teams of two to take over a base, fly a helicopter, man a tank, etc.

Well Outlaw, it greatly depends on which tactics you are wishing to incorporate.

There are many tactical styles, mainly 4: Assault, Defensive, Support, and Reconnaissance.

If you narrow it down, I can provide you with multiple tactics in each level. However, I can provide you with one of each at the moment, to get a glimpse of what I mean.

Assault:

Bound and Cover:

One of my most favorite attack tactics. In this tactic, you must strategically coordinate a small firing team, to suppress an enemy frontline, while another small firing team, will move up to progress the enemy frontline, and suppress that frontline until the other firing team may move up, and the process repeats. In this case, your objective should be going behind enemy lines, until the enemy finds themselves into a more unstable defensive positions, or retreating.

Defensive:

Perimeter Defense:

In perimeter defense, your objective is to protect the entire area of a base, not the base itself. This tactic requires a defensive line, and you must carefully and thoughtfully coordinate this tactic, as it's the most crucial, because if a small leak in the defensive line is found, then the enemies have a huge chance of passing the line, and thus capturing the base. For this, you get a layout of the map, and make sure that each entrance/exit has a man covering it, and that each man covering that entrance/exit has a backup assistant, in case of that man eliminating. This may also be known as "Solid Defense."

Support:

Ambush/Flanking:

Probably the most underused, yet most effective support tactic in every game. In this tactic, you will have a squad of players to conceal themselves in a manner that the enemy will not have them in their sights. The element of surprise plays a huge part. The reason I included flanking is because Ambushes should usually be performed in a manner that it catches the enemy off guard, but allows for another squad to enter in a more direct firefight, while the ambushers are catching off from behind enemy lines, or a flanking frontline.

Reconnaissance:

Patrolling/Diversion:

Rather a small tactic, yet, in terms of reconnaissance, you are not to really engage, but in this style, you can. The patrol will deploy behind enemy lines via airborne deployment (most effective.) They will then give a report on enemy positions. After this, they will then provide a diversion, or a distraction, and will then eliminate enemies behind enemy lines to progress the friendly frontline.

I agree, Ranger seems good at this.
I also agree with DeadlyChaos'list of tactics. But you gotta know which one to pick, as scenario changes such as map, area, vehicles, team size, etc. can make one preferable over the other.
But the one tactic that always works is TEAMWORK. With this, you can't lose.

Well, yes, however, that's why I gave him a general tactic. This can be used in any map, area, vehicles, team, size, etc. anything.

But yes. Tactics are not always going to work in-game. If they fail, you may have alternatives, but you have limited options, and what happens then?

Improvise. Just use call-outs and formations, the bread-and-butter of teamwork, and improve strategic routes, and general tactics as the ones I provided you with, and make it work in game.

The good thing about the ones I provided you with is, that they require teamwork, but work in any situation. More in-depth tactics or strategies are more reserved for a one-way, and no other alternative. General tactics such as those I provided you with, and much more if you simplify with what you want to hear/know about, are your primary tactic, and when your strategy doesn't seem effective, you then have the more specific tactics as your secondary, an alternative option.

Also, is this for scrims or general training? There is a HUGE and important difference between those tactics.

They work well in both. It's just in scrims the golden rule applies. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING ever goes to plan.

The Golden Rule in scrimmages is that teamwork is your only tactic. Tactics never go according to plan, as you have no knowledge of the opposing team's tactics. The best tactics I can provide you with for scrimmages is to utilize Call-Outs and Formations. In the end, you're counter-offensive and defensive skills are the only tactics that work in a scrimmage, however, many different strategies can be conducted as you progress through the game.

Incorporate tactical education, however, only for enhancing one's knowledge of teamwork and strategy. In the end, like I said, call-outs and formations are your tactics, and counter-offense and defense is your strategy.

Well let me just tell you now. If you're going for a flag or an M-Com that is in enemy possession, but you're essentially in a stalemate with them, move on elsewhere. The more time you take trying to cap a flag with heavy resistance, the more tickets you're going to lose.

Walk on by to a flag that is lightly defended then hopefully you will be able to deal with the other flag from both sides.

And yes, most of the time in a scrim or in fact some pub matches, things don't go according to plan. So think on your feet but STICK WITH YOUR SQUAD! If you've been assigned a position in a group then follow them and work with them. 2>1. The more the merrier.

Also, make the most of what you have, whether that's time, assets, teammates. They're all there for you to utilize.

Just don't ever get too cocky.

Resistance in a huge factor to encounter. Just yesterday, a bunch of the us P4Fers were PTFOing and using teamwork, but we encountered heavy resistance too much, and end up losing a match.

However, in this case Ninja, deception is the victor in war, a lesson from Sun Tzu. You want to keep guys on the frontline suppressing the enemy, making them think that you guys are still trying to capture that base, and in this case, you are not. Then send in a few to flank, and viola, you got yourself a base, and a diversion, in which the rest of the team can come in and eliminate the rest.
