Hey, have any of you guys heard of how Wargaming.net is working on World of Warplanes? (Instead of tanks it's warplanes :O) Currently, it's in the Global Alpha Testing stage, and you can apply to be an Alpha tester; lots of people don't get in, though. I recently got in, and because of the extremely strict NDA Agreement, I'll just say you have a lot of pure awesomeness to prepare for!
Your thoughts on it?

System specs, like can my crappy PC run it?
Also, what types of aircraft are there? WWI, WWII, or Modern?
If anyone wants to play an allright plane Sim, check out Aces High.

They are also working on world of battleships (or something like that, with boats instead of tanks)

I registered for World of Tanks and I love it so far, so I will definitely try World of Warplanes and World of Battleships.

Whats next? "World of Infantrymen"? "World of Jeeps"? "World of Wartrains"?
I might take a look at it though, I used to be good at Ace Combat so what the hey.

If that's true, then you got accepted yesterday Yesterday they let in everybody that applied for Global Alpha Testing before February 23rd.
It is using the same amazing game engine as WoT, so it will probably have the same specs. Your graphics card probably has to render less at higher altitude because it's more blue sky and clouds as opposed to detailed ground and structures, so you'd get higher FPS the more altitude you have. On the public part of the forums someone said that they're working with BigWorld Technologies (the people that made the engine) to make the engine more efficient and utilize more hardware power.

The aircraft, as seen in the MEDIA section on http://na.worldofwarplanes.com are from around the start of WWII up to the earlier jet fighters that were used in the Korean War.

I'm looking forward to that a lot as well. I love games like those as well, and there sure is a lack of navy warfare games out there. It's gonna be even better to be able to command and fight with the ships of that era. I just hope it stomps and replaces NavyField altogether.

They only announced the trilogy of Tanks, Warplanes, and Battleships. I don't think there would be any more new categories to base more games on without breaching the era of war that the trilogy focuses on and the unique & extensive game-play that doesn't get old quickly. Besides, they already have land, air, and water. What else is there? (SPPAACCCEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!)
I'm pretty sure I stayed within the guidelines of the NDA; I only took information viewable to the public and not just privileged people.
