I like it, but I doubt those are actual Active Duty SEALS. If I read it right, it said that the people are active duty SEALs, which would be impossible, as it is destroying their OPSEC, and we do NOT allow that to happen with ANY SF members.

They could be SEALs that do training or other things that doesn't compromise their Operation Security. Rob Roy is the biggest known SEAL.

Still, showing their faces is OPSEC. Unless they are Former SEALS, then leave them be. I am also getting fed up with how people are trying to be SEALS. It just irks me when it takes Osama being killed to spark an interest, and then people start acting like they know what SEALS are on a personal level. What they do, where they go, etc.

It depends, haven't you seen Top Sniper? They have a few SEAL team snipers that show their face name and rank. So yea we DO allow it, and on US bases.

Aren't most of them Formers anyway? ON base is a different story, as they are ON base.

Nope there real SEALs, that are not on deployment there to show their skills and learn new things.

Answer this. Have you ever heard of an active duty SF member walk around and shout to the world,"I AM IN SF!!!!!" The answer is no. If the are former SEALS, they can go around and show off all the want, but as active duty, they are showing their face, and possibly putting themselfs and team at risk.

How do I know this?

I have been around plenty of the Special Operation types.

Watch the show they are no means former SEALs. Also, there are some SF out there who do say who they are because they don't care if they are at risk.

Then they are going against OPSEC. The SF's I know personally are against people like that, unless they have been throughly CLEARED and BRIEFED on what the can and can not reveal. And they care if they are at risk, that is a dumb assumption. Come talk to the people I know. We have known some to go 'off the deep end', some who NEVER talk about anything, some who look at you like a dog, and some to keep to themselfs, and their units.

That's what you originally posted, and then you switched to oh its ok if they've been cleared for it. You have no fucking idea what has been done for the MOVIE. They probably are active duty SEALs, nice to see something different for once. Just because you grew up around military your whole life doesn't make you a PHD in it. I grew up around firearms and electronics, doesn't make me a gunsmith or a electronics repairman but I still know what I'm doing.

First off, I never posted about them being brifed. That was in a later post, so cool it. I never said I know all about the Military, I just know evough on the SF side of things, considering my whole family has been in, or involved with SF. I am just saying, how sick I am of people not caring of the troops, never thanking them for their sacrifices, then a movie comes out, and now they are all like, "Oohhh, SEALs are cool! I wanna do that, cause they are cool!" It makes me sick, and fed up with people. And if I remember correctly, you are basing your info from T.V. shows. Anyone can be anything on T.V.

I don't like SEALs as much as the SAS. Also, your right so I must be Batman!

The think that most people wont get, not you RJ, but others in general; is that every SF group has different missions, therefore they are all great at what they do. The SEALs, for example, are the Navy's equivalent to the Army's Rangers. They just preform different tasks. Same can be said about "Team Six". They are the equivalent to the Army's Green Berets. Then comes Delta Force, which is a mixture of alot of the units.

And on the contrary, I am Gumby.
