| Steve Job has resigned! And I don't f***ing care! Because I hate Apple, and its guts! I also hate people that think they have "elite status" just because they own an apple product. Yeah, it's black, white, grey & shiny but besides that it also lacks performance, compatibility, and has a lot of selfishness & stuck-up S*** in it. And it has no fricking video games in it at all. PC ftw. (Steve Jobs is a good man, but I really despise what he has made) |

| This is a historic day for the tech industry. You may not like Apple's products, but you can't deny, that Steve Jobs could sell them like no one else could. His leadership and decisions, has built the company an empire. He helped Apple come in at just the right time with the right tech. Under his watch, they created huge new markets, such as music downloads (with iTunes) and tablets (with the iPad, yes they were there before, but Apple managed to make the idea mainstream). The man was a visionary, and although I may not be a fan of Apple's products (Android FTW), I respect the man and his ability to lead his team to the top of the world. It is interesting to see how this will affect the company... will this be the start of Apple's sink to irrelevance, or a new era of dominance and innovation, or will things just stay pretty much the same? |

| Actually, he just kinda stepped down. Not resigned. He is still part of Apple, just not the "Head-honcho". |

| Well.....all I know is that steve made the only probduct able to hold music from a computer which is pretty cool but windows is also kind of bad because the man behind it is a multi billionare and he could drop a 1000 dollar bill on the sidewalk and not even bother to pick it up because by the time he picked it up he would of already earned it back....thats total bs imo |

| They're ok when compared to other billonaires... Still, I prefer Bill Gates over Jobs any day.
And I hate Carlos Slim... Just saying. Lol |

| I agree with Spino on this, Jobs saw the markets need and created what they required (or the perfect illusion of what they require, and a product that suits it very well). However, not everyone that buys apple products does care about the 'elite status'. It's just a crapload of money for a product that's been designed to the max. I'm especially talking about the actual design, the industrial designing they use. I don't want this topic to turn into a battle against Apple, despite the good start Cmdr. gave. Its just another provider of phones and stuff, but a expensive one..
Too bad Jobs resigned, he made Apple what it is. But is he's not feeling good enough for the position, then he really should resign indeed, and 'enjoy life'.

| Also agree with you therr Spino.
Apple doesn't make people snobs and full of themselves. Just as Benz, rolexes and money don't make people that way. People are the culprits here.
Macs do lack in games but then that is not why people buy them. They are just as powerful if not more than PCs. They don't have Windows consuming a whole bunch of resources, less problems, and they run a lot more smooth. There's a reason why graphic/animation/movie industry uses macs. They also run smooth right down to the mouse movements. Ever move your mouse quickly from one side of the screen to the other and followed it with your eyes? You'll see the cursor appearing and disappearing making empty spaces in the movement. Do this with a MAC and its as smooth as butter. No I'm not one of those Mac people, but there is a higher quality with Macs than PCs that I've see and used. And have said to myself now I know why people and companies buy them.
Jobs is resigning from the position of CEO, is what they are saying and I don't think moving to a chairperson of the board is stepping down. It still means he won't be doing what he was doing. He won't have the daily decisions to make or the control, power, and involvment he once had. Although he'll probably have some involvement behind the scene. He did great things with that company that possibly not any man can do. His contributions to technology, computers, and handheld devices will set a bar and a trend for other companies to follow and/or try to beat. What's he has done is and has been brillant as a business man. Apple would have been out of business a ling time ago if it had not been for him. He was one to believe in quality not quality and didn't place profits above everything else as some of these other compannines that push out low quality product to turn a quick buck.
He has definitely made a mark in history and his ways will be forever attempted to be followed and studied. Some web sources believe that if Tim Cook, the guy that covered Jobs as a temporary CEO during his medical leaves, the company will do just fine and remain pretty much the same. |
