| Why would you say that Shady? Is there something you know of CBC?
I agree, with each round we'll need to train more and harder. But I'm just assuming you might know something other than stating the obvious. |

| Still, we need to treat each team as if they have a huge advantage over us. I don't care how active they are, or how much they win or lose, treat all enemies as hostle and dangerous. If we slack at all or goof off before our 3rd win of the match, then we have lost. I am serious when it comes to tournies and other competitions, i still have fun, but I want to win. OHH RAHH and Semper Fi 13th!!! |

| I guess the question is where did the best players go; The Divide or stayed in CBC? Their website is completely open and nothing has been posted about this weekend. It may be that they just use TS to communicate. Hopefully they'll post their teams makeup including class as they did for their EU team last week.
They use TS. Maybe I'll hop on as Guest and do some recon.
In either case never underestimate thy enemy. We should get on daily and as much as possible to practice. Paraphrasing Haelyn, we should practice under like-real conditions; 8v8 instead of full teams.
So, tactics. I think Eng isn't the best class for this map and we should use Assaults for their reinforcements to attack in waves, and Recon for their claymores and motion sensors. Medics are ok for their medic packs but I don't see a whole lot of reviving done. Although a lot see this as being a noob gun but, gotta hand it, the shotgun is quite effective on this map.
A/C are no brainers and only 1 person should capture these so that we have more players on the frontlines. Now, the question is taking B. There are plenty of options and possiblities that can/should be discussed. In either case once B is captured, the map is small enough to form a wall of defense and we'll need to discussed the best places to setup positions. The Recon can plant their claymores in alleyways or common paths, or even around A/C. And set out motion sensors to see where the most players are attacking from.
If there is a very, very good shot in taking C/A from the other team, then we can try but, all we need to do at the very least, is to hold on to 2 flags.
Once we have a few tactical scenarios in our playbook, we go and practice running them. |

| This is good maybe we should give the medics USAS-12 for close support and healing
once you take the points watch for air droppers |

| There shouldn't be any if we leave them A/C no? Plus if we place claymores around the flags it should cover those 1 or 2 air drops.
I don't know if it'll be the same... I don't think so. It would be best to select teams sooner than we did last time to give the team a chance to practice together. |

| While I have no final say in this decision, as it is still in discussion. I will say that the main team will not be broken down apart as much. Things will be changed in consideration for the map (that means different focus on classes) so their will be a few switching in the team if seen fit. But in the end if we make it far into the cup, their are only 8 prizes for 8 winners, and too much member switching could lead to a ruff debate over who gets what. So be upfront if you wanna be in the cup for a shot at the prizes or because you just wish to represent the 13th. As I said this is just my word. But the main focus for now should be for people to focus on what they will do best for sharqi. We SS are researching the enemy clan, and also watching everyones performance, so do know EYES ARE UPON U |

| The USAS gets a bad rap, but considering the map and the stakes, Ill probably break it out as the best tool for the job (now just got to see which class to use on the map) |

| I gave the USAS-12 a whirl today and I wouldn't recommend it.
Sure, it is unrivaled at point-blank range. Can flatten 3-4 unfortunate people in 1 clip if you bump into each other turning the corner. But the damage decreases dramatically with distance.
In fact, I would advise against shotguns in general. They are very situational and even on a small map like Sharqi, the average firefight takes place juuust outside shotgun range.
What I would advise is for each class to pick their class weapon that fits Sharqi : high fire rate and damage. Weapons like the M4A1 for the Assault or the SVU for the Sniper.

| TBH I have the bad luck of not bumping into anyone in close range. So that sucks. For medics in my point of view please refrain from using the M60 or the MG3.
I recomend atleast 1 of us (since theirs 3) TO use the SAW. I know what ur thinking and I aint crazy if ur fighting in B or if you C and firing at B then the SAW can give good suppressing fire and able your other comrades to aim and attack enemy units. It even gives good covering for men who are crossing streets.
I will use the Elite PKM since its light and can act like an assault rifle. It gives good damage from far away and I reocmend another medic in my team besides myself to use it. |

| Exactly what i was thinking, knocked the dust off my svu and pulled my recon out for a spin around the block.
The last cup match we played I only got 4 or 5 kills, but i got 2800 points in the match...maybe a couple hundred of that was from the beginning flag, rest was from heals and shock paddles, only pullled out the saw a few times...medics are huge if the troops are aware enuff to get right back into the fight when they pop up. Saw is awesome, prob the single best gun in the game, althought the mp5 would be a close second imho.
Working on holding back ally from C to A from either faction. 5 claymores, 4 granades, svu, and couple points in sensor....only think that is kicking my butt is that I run out of ammo so fast, even with points in extra mags. Might not be an issue with smaller player count. |

| These are all great ideas and tactics. keep it up and actually use them and we will be golden. You all are right that playing with only 8v8 as opposed to 16v16 is a huge difference. |

| I have a few tactical tips I wanted to throw out from what I saw yesterday and our match bronco's vs others.
As russians, take A and B then just hold them. do what dolly and haelyn did with one right on the corner behind the wall at B and the other behind the front car on the street between c and a. Then put 2 people watching the construction site side of B and 2 people watching the grass ally from C to A. That leaves 2 "floaters" to help where needed. If you can hold that wall and let them have C, you can win easy. Just keep people up and call targets and where you need help.
As US, you can do something simular. Hold C and B and let the russians have A. Then what you do is have 1 watch the flag, 1 watch the fence area near the flag. 2 people watch the dirt road from spawn to B, and 2 inside the spawn area in the grassy ally headed from A to C. Again, 2 floaters to help where needed, prolly in the spawn area in the ally. And just hold.
The idea is that if they have 1 flag, they shouldn't be para-dropping behind you guys. Also, in both cases, you are spread out enough to form a wall, while being close enough to support each other. If done properly, and with quick recovery of any lost flag, you should easily win.
I wish I could be there with you guys, but RL has a way of taking over sometimes. Good luck and I will try to be on as much as I can be tomarrow pre-cup to help practice and give advice. Thoughts or comments? |
