Well in this topic you can tell us about your weirdest, your scariest or your most recent dreams, and if you want you can ask to our opinions what the dream could mean.

Or if you have visions in your dreams like I sometimes have tell us about it.

Also everyone has common dreams, i read about it, so tell your dream and i'll be happy to explain.

If you can't remember your dreams maybe this helps:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8N27VOvUuk

Well i guess i'll start: I have visions, yes it's true, the ony problem is that i never remember me those visions untill the moment happens, after those moments i suddenly get a flashback, i guess i still need to develop the skill to remember those visions, since i'm only 14 and still in puberty my mind still is growing and expanding.

and 2 of my scariest nightmares:

1- my dad was driving a car, and i was sit next to him, then 2 mens shoot my dad, i instatly get out of the car and start to run , then those 2 guys catch me and shoot me on the head, and i start to feel my bodie Heavier and cold, then i die, then i wake up.

2- i start to hear some spirits inside my dad car( what a coincidence ehh?), then i hear my little sister doing some ghost noices, then i see my sister as a ghost , BOOOO.

Well i think i saw something about your first dream, i'll try to have another look at it tommorow. If the second one is true, i have a question do you wake up when she says BOOOO or are you scared in the dream? And is there something you remember after the BOoOOoOoO part?

Well it could be déjà-vus but if you dream it it are probably just little visions, now i had an interesting arguement with fondu on xfire today about visions. In his opinion visons are just false memories that aren't true, so example: you tought you fell down the stairs or you daydreamed about it but actually that isn't true and a halfyear later you really fall down the stairs and then you have a false déjà-vu but if there really are false memories they have to have a reason right?

I mean everything is made with a reason, so why would your brain make false memories? it just seems very odd to me, maybe humanity just hasn't got the logic yet to figure it out.

anyway it seems like an interesting subject to discuss.

Wait, wait. What? So he is saying that you can get memories before they even happen so you can remember them when they actually do happen? That makes my head hurt!Maybe the human mind plays a guessing game while you are asleep where it predicts stuff like what are you going to buy based on your previous toughts and actions and then "playes" it in your dream but that would mean that it has a mind of its own(i know, lol) and why would it do that anyways?Maybe it guesses what would happen to warn you(like falling down the stairs) but thats pretty impossible too.I don't know.It dosen't make much sense and maybe i just saw way too many sc-fi movies and they are finally taking their effect on me.
P.S. Im also a huge skeptic towards all that magical mumbo jumbo so im pretty sure it has something to do with the human body itself and not some god or something talking to you trough your dreams(no offense anybody).

deja vu is an experience caused when your brain writes your experience 2 times in different parts of your brain. When you "recall" your memory youre reading that second memory.

I can't remember my dreams except when I first wake up but they fade after about 5-10 seconds. All I know is they're not usually very wierd except everything happens in a place that I either have never seen or is a combination of places I've seen. I'm going to work on remembering since I'd like to interpret them (I don't believe in luck or karma or any of that, but this is more...scientific...I guess?). In the meantime I'll try as hard as I can to help you all interpret yours Razz

Well liam just described the deja-vu part but still i think there is more behind it. We can probably never figure out what dreams really are made for, or how your dreams are made ( i'm not talking about the part in brains that makes dreams, i'm talking about the content, the stuff that happen in your dreams )

Now we don't have the knownledge to figure it out, we only can try to guess for explanations.

This is indeed more scientific, if we can believe all those people who studied the brain and dreams for many many dreams, but there still has to be something more then just that right?

Have you ever heard that you retain information/knowledge better if you get a good night's sleep?

Theorists have been keen on explaining that dreams are simply the brain reorganizing facts, thoughts.

As far as visions, I call bullsh*t. Most of these people are just people seeking media attention.

As far as your brain coming up with new material. Think about it, your brain IS THE MOST COMPLEX OBJECT IN EXISTENCE. No other object known to man has that much complexity. I'm pretty sure it is able to come up with random ideas. Much like how when you're conscious... creativity anyone? Except when you're dreaming your subconscious takes over.

If you are indeed curious about pursuing what dreams are I suggest you read up on psychology or maybe take a class on it in high school/college/wherever. There are many theories and explanations for your curiosities. I took psychology in high school and they do provide RATIONAL explanations for dreams, visions (hallucinations), and states of mind.

Well i wouldn't call it bullsh*t, it is bullsh*t untill you have experienced it on you're own.

Last night i dreamed so weird, i just can't explain, it was so huge .

Dreaming is perfectly natural.

Visions (at least the way I define them) are more like ESP and not grounded on a rational or reasonable argument. These people who say that they have gone through an out of body experience, perhaps visiting "heaven", are completely self-interested fallacious whores selling themselves out to a media infatuated with fetishes.

Well ofcourse people will always make their story bigger and more interesting for the media, i don't say i have such heaven experiences, but visions are something complete else.

Well it's just kinda messed up lol, it's so strange, I've had it every Christmas eve as far as I can remember, and on X-mass eve only.

So there's a field, like a hay field without the hayballs,I'm not in it.
And they're these huge boulders, and at first they're just standing there. Then they start to move around, building up speed as they go.

They start getting really aggressive, bumping into eachother at immense speeds, making so much noise, they start getting, wel 'angry'. They start shouting,I can never really understand, but I don't think they're just making noise,I think they're really saying something.

It gets more intense and heavier, while it's in this really sunny hayfield, the sun is really shining and it's very good weather, and it's just these boulders.

Don't know what more to say, really.

Yes I am crazyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Well I was thinking about this and about its meaning.

Well boulders (rocks) are symbols of strength and stability. If you've ever heard of the term "Build your self upon a rock." From Christianity then you'll be pretty familiar what it means.

The sunny and good weather also seem to connote that everything is stable.

However, the movement seems to indicate that you are either scared about your life changing. Maybe why it comes around Christmas time is because it is about to become a New Year and you are scared/excited about the new possibilities.

I am guessing you you are a person who doesn't like surprises and likes a very stable life?

I've had several visions, the most recent was last year. I was lying in a field staring up at the clouds when a red banner blew above me, I sat up and there was a woman running through the fields with long blonde hair and a long red banner blowing in the breeze.

Above me a red kite soared on the thermals hunting for food and I turned to my friend and asked her did she see the woman too and she said she saw a horseman on the other side of the valley, a horseman I could not see. We were both having our own independant visions.

The clouds started to form fractal patterns as they dissolved and reformed and some of the trees started to wireframe and retexture as if they were rendered and the clouds began to boil overhead and there was a voice whispering to me and it said 'Are you enjoying your acid ?'

Common sense interpretation says that you're looking for that special girl.

And as for your friend... she's looking for her knight in shining armor. (horseman)

I would characterize these as dreams more or less.

Visions = more supernatural than anything.

Not really true though,I constantly look for new possibilities, but I suppose you're right about the stable life,I would prefer that everything stays as it was,but I deal very well if something changes...

dreams and visions Empty
PostSubject: Re: dreams and visions   dreams and visions EmptyMon Oct 11, 2010 2:18 pm

I used to have these crazy vivid dreams all the time but they seem to have diminished as I have gotten older. Usually the dreams I have now are fuzzy and soon forgotten, but I did have one dream about a year or so ago that was very clear and memorable. It was also one that made me question my sanity for a few days, but I haven't had any... 'incidents' ...so I think I'm ok.

The dream started normal enough. I was in some sort of small warehouse playing cards with some people who looked vaguely familiar. I can't really recall anybody in particular, but it seemed as though I knew these people. There was a large open garage door on both sides of the warehouse with the card table being directly between these two open doors.

After a few minutes (I really have no concept of time in dreams so the accuracy of stated times is unknown) we started to hear gunfire and general chaos erupted outside. Before long, a small group of people armed with automatic weapons came running into the warehouse through one of the garage doors and posted up, apparently trying to catch their breath. They had the look of mercenaries or something of the sort, but they seemed to be in pretty bad shape. They did not acknowledge me or my friends in any way.

Within seconds, a large group of zombies began pouring into the warehouse chasing after these mercenaries. The guys take off toward the other door, running right by the card table, firing off rounds at the zombies as they go. The zombies chasing them also run right by the table, not noticing us at all until one of the guys at the table decides to get up and yell something at them. A few of the zombies hear the guy and turn around. They proceed to rip him to pieces and devour the majority of his body in a matter of seconds, and then continue out the door in the direction of the mercenaries.

At this point I remember having genuine feelings of fear and confusion. I figured that there would be more zombies at any moment, and I had no weapons to fend them off with. On top of that my companions just continued on with their card game, as if they had not witnessed the events that had just taken place right in front of them. I desperately tried to get their attention but they seemed totally oblivious to everything around them including me.

Rather than waiting around for more zombies to show up I decided to take action. Exiting the warehouse, I found myself in the midst of a full blown zombie apocalypse. There were bodies everywhere, some being eaten and others horribly mutilated. About half of the buildings I saw were on fire, and most of the others were boarded up or barricaded. The sounds of gunfire, screaming and general zombie chaos were all around me.

There were small groups of armed civilians facing off against large groups of zombies. I wanted to join the fight with these people, increasing my odds for survival and possibly acquiring a weapon. However, any time I would try to approach (or even look at) a group of survivors they would get overwhelmed by the zombie horde.

Eventually I noticed the bodies of the mercenaries from the warehouse. Apparently they didn't make it, so I figured I could take their guns since they wouldn't be needing them. But when I got close the mercenaries stood up, clearly taking an interest in me as I approached. At this point I panicked. These were the first zombies that even seemed to notice me and there was no doubt in my mind what they wanted.

So I ran. I ran for what seemed like hours. I never looked back, but I could feel the zombies just a step behind me the whole time. And then suddenly I was on one end of a very long bridge. I wasn't running anymore and there were no zombies chasing me. It was night, and there was an intense thunderstorm raging. I started to feel relieved that I wasn't being chased anymore, but then I saw him.

On the other side of the bridge was a giant man, ghostly white and completely bald. He wore a long, dark trench coat and was about twice the size of a normal man (basically Mr. X from RE2).
In a matter of seconds, the feelings of fear and panic had returned. I'm not sure how or why, but I knew I needed to cross that bridge, and I knew Mr. X wasn't going to make it easy on me. Having no weapons I did the only logical thing I could think to do, I powered up.

If you have ever seen Dragonball Z then you should know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, then I basically just stood there with my fists clenched and yelled the longest, loudest and most intense yell that I could ever imagine. I yelled so loud that it echoed for miles throughout the canyon that the bridge was meant to cross. The storm intensified and there was lightning everywhere. And then I began to feel the energy building up inside me. It's kind of hard to describe what it felt like, but imagine the most intense adrenaline rush you've ever had but it just keeps getting more and more intense, and then multiply that by a thousand or so. Once I had powered up sufficiently, I felt damn near unstoppable.

At this point Mr. X began to move toward me, but before he had even taken two steps I was flying (literally flying as my feet never touched the ground) at him at full speed. My fist collided hard with his chest, stunning him and knocking him back. Without hesitation I grabbed him by the head and jumped about 100 feet into the air over the side of the bridge. He struggled with me in the air trying to get free, but I maintained a death grip on his head and continued to pummel him with knees to the face and chest until we came crashing hard to the ground where I made sure his head was the first thing to land. We landed in a small pool of water however, and the force of the fall was not enough to finish him. He stood up and tried to take a swing at me, but I grabbed him with both hands by the throat and forced his head underwater. I proceeded to hold his head under the water for what seemed like a good 2-3 minutes until he finally stopped struggling.

Moments later I awoke, and the fist thing I remember thinking was "So that's what it feels like to drown someone" and I seriously felt like I had. It was one of the most vivid dreams I have ever had and one very few I remember in such great detail. Everything just seemed so real when it was happening in the dream. For a few days I was kind of worried that maybe I had some kind of sub-conscious desire to drown people, but I don't think that's the case.

Sorry for the long post but I'm bored.

@burntreez4fun wow that's a intersting dream i wonder how you could remember so much of it

my scariest dream started like this

i was in my house doing normal things as i remember and sudenly a guy came into my house and he was coming towards me with a knife and a evil face... i felt like i could not move and i tried to scream but i lost my voice too ... i keep trying and trying to call for help but as the guy was aproaching i sensed the fear growing more and more and sudenly i woke up
i almost screamed for help ... luckly i could control my voice and be alone in my room

that's how are my latest nightmares ... i cant act do anything ... i freeze myself ... i even lose my voice... i'm hopeless :\

in the past i tried the following thing to calm down with the nightmares

i set my watch to wake up at 3:00 night then after that immediatly go back to sleep and think on things i do like the most and after just a min or 2 i'm falling asleep again and i'm dreaming what i want

I had almost the same nightmare once, he had a knife, looked evil, approached, i couldn't screen only difference was that i could run for my life but that didn't had any use, cause he was faster and then before he hits i wake up all sweaty and i feel like screaming O_O
