| I have long needed to get back into the BC2 single player campaign mode to work on some stuff. Besides the shotgun, SMG, Building Demo achievements, I also needed to find (2) weapons, the M95S and USAS-12S. I did all of those last night. Now all I have left for the single player campaign is the Airborne Hardcore run.
While the (2) final weapons didn't win any achievements, it has been bugging me for months.
So who is ready to team up for some Onslaught Valparaiso Easy & Hardcore? |

| Yeah, I just did those things a week or so ago. The Airborne is easy, you just have to play that mission, not the whole campaign if you don't want to spend forever doing it, lol. |

I believe we are limited to teams of 4 and there are fur maps to do on easy and then on hardcore in order to score the eight achievements. I have no idea what kits will work best. Do the enemy just keep on spawning until you reach an objective or are the enemy triggered in waves like when playing the game in single player campaign? |

| Correct, they are "magic soldiers" in that they spawn via parachuting into the battlefield about a 20 second walk away from our objective. Usually you'll have to keep 2-3 guys on the objective to take it, but nothing too tough.
Its laid out as zone flags which you have to capture by staying put in the zone, but once its captured, you must move onto the next one (similar to Rush). |

| Are there enemy vehicles to counter? What kit has worked best for you?
Answered my own questions below.

| I just finished my (4) easy Onslaught rounds with some randoms and it was pretty easy.
Strategy #1 might be one squad member playing recon from a pretty safe distance. You can not lose the game as long as one team member remains alive. The recon can snipe enemy as well as call in mortar strikes on heave vehicles.
Engineer seems like the best class, as it's easy to take out the vehicles at a distance. Some of the vehicles you can sneak up on and plant C4. After playing Medic for most of Valparaiso, at the last base I switched to Engineer + USAS-12 + Tracer + RPG + Extra Rockets + Magnum Ammo + Alt Fire. I ran that kit the rest of the game. AT4 might be a good alternative, although not as effective on the enemy helos.
Running body armor might be a very good strategy as the enemy are pretty easy to kill and body armor will help keep you alive while trying to respond to enemy hits.
It will be interesting to see how Onslaught plays in Hardcore. I'm definitely game for playing all the maps on easy again to see where the enemy spawn and vehicles spawn.
IMHO, the Apache is a waste of time since you have two players which can not trigger the flag. Besides maybe using the Apache to take out the two tanks in front, using the Apache as a transport seems to make the most sense to get two players to the 1st flag quick.
On the Atacama map, taking a tank into the last base is a breeze if you go to the right and break thru the fence/wall. Going up the middle is tough. From the right side you can make your way to relative safety inside the building by the flag. From there you have some cover from the helo attacks yet can target many enemy personnel and tanks. I did not trying to use the VADS to target the Hind.
The last flag of Valparaiso is tough if you don't take out the heavy vehicle. Getting and holding one of the concrete buildings is a good plan, just like regular play. There are some light vehicles you can steal if you kill the main gunner and then you can suppress the enemy pretty well as well us the truck to speed to the next base.
On Isla Incentes, consider using the BH to take out the Hind as it will hit you hard while trying to raise the A Flag. The pilot should run smoke as the enemy are pretty good at tracing you.
I thought most of our typical attack routes did not have enemy. Running down either far left/right side of the maps I found to be free of enemy, usually allowing me to sneak up to the objective from their flank. But watch your back because they spawn from the rear.
Anyway... I look forward to playing tonight. |
