| Subject: Meebo Bar Wed Jul 07, 2010 1:42 am | |
| EDIT: Well, now I'm disappointed. The meebo bar won't update to what I want it to show. I'm going to remove it. Hey guys, I just installed this Meebo bar onto our site. I will be able to add a lot of things, you'll see in an hour or so. Although, the real HTML coding they gave me was a piece of sh*t. Just look. This is what they gave me: - Code:
-
<script type="text/javascript"> if (typeof Meebo == 'undefined') { Meebo=function(){(Meebo._=Meebo._||[]).push(arguments)}; (function(_){var d=document,b=d.body,c;if(!b){c=arguments.callee; return setTimeout(function(){c(_)},100)}var a='appendChild',c='createElement', m=b.insertBefore(d[c]('div'),b.firstChild),n=m[a](d[c]('m')),i=d[c]('iframe'); m.style.display='none';m.id='meebo';i.frameBorder="0";n[a](i).id="meebo-iframe"; function s(){return['<body onload='var d=document;d.getElementsByTagName("head")[0].', a,'(d.',c,'("script")).src="http',_.https?'s':'','://',_.stage?'stage-':'', 'cim.meebo.com','/cim?iv=2&network=',_.network,_.lang?'&lang='+_.lang:'', _.d?'&domain='+_.d:'','"'></bo','dy>'].join('')}try{ d=i.contentWindow.document.open();d.write(s());d.close()}catch(e){ _.d=d.domain;i.src='javascript:d=document.open();d.write("'+s().replace(/"/g,'"')+'");d.close();'}}) ({ network: '13thmeu_jo18fi', stage: false }); Meebo("makeEverythingSharable"); } </script> <script type="text/javascript"> Meebo("domReady"); </script>
With the help of another forumotion with Meebo, I edited (or should I say switched around phrases and totally replaced other parts ) the code. To my GREATEST surprise, it actually worked... This was the end result: - Code:
-
<body> <script type="text/javascript"> if (typeof Meebo == 'undefined') { Meebo=function(){(Meebo._=Meebo._||[]).push(arguments)}; (function(q) { var d=document,b=d.body; if(!b){var cb=arguments.callee;return setTimeout(function(){cb(q)},100);} var m=b.insertBefore(d.createElement('div'), b.firstChild), s=d.createElement('script'); m.id='meebo'; m.style.display='none'; m.innerHTML='<iframe id="meebo-iframe" frameBorder="0" ></iframe>'; s.src='http'+(q.https?'s':'')+'://'+(q.stage?'stage-':'')+'cim.meebo.com/cim/cim.php?network='+q.network; d.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(s); })({network: '13thmeu_jo18fi', stage: false}); Meebo("makeEverythingSharable"); } </script> <script type="text/javascript"> Meebo("domReady"); </script> </body> All this has taken me around 3 hours. Registering our site a HTML code for a Meebo Bar, getting the code, going around on Google to find all these solutions that didn't apply, trying to find the Template Editor, finding out PHPBB3 doesn't support template editing, inputting the code in the Modules, messing around with the code's spaces and Tab's, FINALLY deciding to do something IT Coding-related thing by myself (using another site with the bar to help), being amazed at it working, and finally posting this. (There were some smaller things I did but didn't mention) Now, I'm going to edit the toolbar with some applications to make the bar more... "13th MEU". Yes, this is a bragging post. Only because it f***ing took me hours to do this, and still more to do. Please, reply on how you are using this toolbar, and what you would like to see. Not too many applications I can add onto it (for that we'd have www.wibiya.com for it. I don't want to install a new bar just yet. I need feedback on this one AND I wasted too much time to get rid of it just yet. Again, reply with feedback on how you use it, any bugs, and how your experience with it is, etc.
P.S.: THIS WILL BE ALSO USED TO COMPARE WIBIYA TO MEEBO, PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK! WE WILL SWITCH OVER TO WIBIYA (IF PHPBB3 ALLOWS) IN THE SOON FUTURE AND SEE THE DIFFERENCE. THEN WE MIGHT DECIDE TO KEEP ONE OF THEM, IF thebronxbomber ALLOWS. THANK YOU.
