| This game looks beyond sweet. It just looks AMAZING! Even though Bethesda isn't making this one, I think Obsidian knows what they're doing. Can't wait for this game to come out! But waiting till October really is a kick in the face.... |

| Not getting it.
It just looks like a re skin of Fallout 3 with some new features, and a total disregard of what made Fallout 3 good, at least for me.
Michael, I've already had this conversation with you, but for anyone else here's why Fallout 3 was good, imo.
1. You had an extreme sense of loneliness/helplessness. (Helplessness up to the point where you had all of those big guns, with that stockpile of ammo that put anyone on 'Hoarders' to shame)
2. When you came upon cities/people wandering the wasteland you normally couldn't tell what was going to happen. (Cites weren't so much if you were extremely good/bad)
And something irrelevant to Fallout 3.
Obsidian didn't make any open world games, they made turn based strategy games. |

No offense or anything, but I think people don't give enough credit or really even believe in Obsidian's capabilities. I think New Vegas is a standalone game with Fallout 3's graphics and gameplay, (i.e. VATS, and all that good stuff.) with Obsidian's own gameplay, tweaks, ideas, and dialogue mixed in. - PigMazurka wrote:

Well Fallout 1 and 2 were more or less open world, 3rd person strategy games. |

Well Fallout 1 and 2 were more or less open world, 3rd person strategy games. From what they've shown publically it doesn't look like much effort was made to update it, which is what upsets me the most. When people complained about having/wanting to use V.A.T.S. in Fallout 3 because of no ability to ADS outside of it they pretty much said, "Oh, well you can do that now!" and then they put in the bullshit of the gun just turning a little and you looking over it. The only thing that draws me in is the weapon customization, which so far is the only thing that looks like they've done well. Credit is given where credit is due. |

I find fast travel boring unless I really need to get somewhere quick. I like to enjoy the scenery of a giant gecko eating someone's leg off in the Wastelands. Btw for everyone who is getting this game, what feature are you looking forward to the most? For me its gotta be the new weapons and the NCR. (New California Republic) NCR Ftw. EDIT: - PigMazurka wrote:

Credit is given where credit is due. You do realize that the vids and publicity aren't top notch quality? Obsidian has bound to have been updating the game, its just they aren't going to show you every single little detail in a trailer for the game. And with the ADS yeah it doesn't look the best but I personally don't really mind it because it looks good enough for me. Also this is Fallout, not a military grade shooter, ADS isn't going to be as smooth or streamlined because its a post-apocalyptic world. Fallout has always been a great series in my book and I don't see any major flaws in the game.

| I've always played Fallout 3 for fun and I never had the difficulty up but I'm probably gonna play through as much of the game as possible and then go back through and play on the new 'Hardcore' mode with sleep deprivation, starvation, dehydration, and exhaustion along with adding weight to all ammo I'm really gonna like the fact that the big city is a way to get away from all the dangers of the Wasteland and just gamble and have fun. Adding all the new weapons is gonna be awesome, especially since (As said at E3 2010) "There will be about twice as many weapons as the previous Fallout" and they are adding iron sights which I think was the right thing to do. And I really can't believe they're actually letting you mod weapons (Since I don't have Fallout 3 for the PC I don't have the joy of mods =/), imagine having a LMG with improved firing rate and it spits out bullets of fire, or a pistol that zaps out electricity. The Super Mutants should be different from the last Fallout because different bands of Super Mutants spread across America after 'The Master' created them. There's gonna be so much more different creatures and new enemies that I can't wait to look forward to when I buy the game. I'm also very glad they didn't change up the graphics at all, because in my opinion it makes the wasteland look more 'wastelandish'. And (completely correct me if I'm wrong because for some reason I faintly remember this) I think they are allowing co-operative play now. They have all the different 'packs' you can get when buying the game that gives you extra ammo, a couple stimpaks, or something along that. The one thing I hated about Fallout 3 was the beginning, I've never liked starting a new load because you're pretty much starting out with nothing and you build your way up through countless hours of gameplay, but they said the beginning starts off a lot faster since you start out as a little baby that gets shot and left to die. I can't say there is anything that I'm specifically looking forward but I know that I'm definitely looking forward to the game as a whole. (And could someone please tell me the exact release date so I'll be prepared to get it?) |

Yeah I pre-ordered the game too so I'm getting the Classic Pack, which gives you vault 13 armor, a unique pistol, and stimpacks! Oh and a canteen, ftw! - cyanide256 wrote:

Yeah I have to say Fallout 3's intro wasn't that good, and for FNV you aren't shot as a baby. Your a Courier delivering a package to Primm, ( I think. ) and your shot twice in the head by and unknown assailant. - cyanide256 wrote:
