This is a question purely out of curiosity and nothing more. As most of you are aware, the latest patch changed around most of the gun base damages and ranges for a better balance judged from the complaints of gamers out there. I am completely for this in every way.

However, something has caught my attention after playing the past two days. It might have been a coincidence from a series of freak lobbies, but here is what I have found:
Every assault in bad company 2 is now using the AN-94.

After I noticed this I tried the gun for myself to see if anything had changed since when I used it before the patch. I must say, it got put on steroids. Even in softcore it now kills in practically two bullets.

But again, maybe I am just being naive. So I'm asking ya'll your opinions. What do you think of it? Am I just seeing things?

Yeah. It said in the update log that the AN94's damage was increased. I am not entirely sure why but probably it was increased to make up for its.. recoil? I dont really know.

Funny. It was already my mid-range choice. Can't wait to use nothing but it for a few weeks (sarcastic)

I had just started Assault a couple days ago, and the An94 rocked. I got the first gold in a matter of hours. Guess its the M60 for now.

An94 a lot more effective now, but the recoil seems more pronounced. Maybe it was my sensitivity changes, have ya'll noticed a difference?

Seems to me like it only kicks hard if you try to use it full auto, if you treat it like its a burst fire rifle its just an ownage cannon

Nice observation about the AN-94...and your right about many Assault class players have started using it heavily now. Take last night for example, Primal and I were playing together and the vast majority of Assault players were equipped with the AN-94.

I also noticed that the players who had it equipped were also clan members teamed up as well. From what I witnessed playing Assault with M416 vs. a player equipped with the AN-94...even if I got off the first few rounds into the tango...he would always win at medium to close range! Maybe I should revisit the AN-94 load-out tonight when I get home from work.

Yeah I understand how that happened, even hipfiring at medium range you win against most players even if they started shooting first haha. I am predicting an uproar on the EA forums any minute now

One of my Hunters has got a Platinum Star for his AN-94, it is insane, but I still don't like it that much :/
