| Lately, I've been getting lag every 5-6 seconds, whether I'm gaming, or typing this, this instance. I've tried Disk Cleaning and Disk Defragment, but nothing seems to be working. I've tried uninstalling programs that were installed the day the lag started, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas, or hell, even explanations as to why this is happening? |

| But it's not even in game. It's just as if I type something and this shows:
Test test tes-*t.
*The dash represents a point where it just freezes for a second, and after that second, it will type whatever I have to finish.
In-game, it's as if I skip an entire second of action or a frame. |

| Could just be a keyboard issue. Unlikely but could be. Got another computer you can try it on? |

| I'm not a computer whiz, but I'm pretty sure a keyboard can't do that. It's not that the keyboard key gets stuck; that could be easily resolved. In this case, I could just scroll around a page, and in between the scroll, there's a delay, where it just freezes, and next thing you know, I'm at the bottom of the page.
Like I said, it's as if I'm skipping frames. |

| Well you didn't explain it very well.
Just upgrade. That will fix it. |

| I just said what I said before. It's as if I skip a frame.
Also upgrade what? |

| Well then if that doesn't work go ask on a PC help forum somewhere where there might be someone who could help |

| From my experience a lot of computers can get this issue from time to time. I've never really looked into what causes but from what I notice it generally starts if your computer overheats or is under a heavy load. Also are you using a desktop (mid-tower, full tower, mini) or a laptop? |

| What do you mean by heavy load? And it's desktop, but not sure what you mean by the other stuff. |

| Something like this has actually started happening to me as well recently. No matter what kind of game im playing, every 10-20 seconds my fps just drops incredibly low or freezes altogether :/ |

| Yeah, but in this case, that five-second range, the frame will freeze altogether, but then the frame-rate will just be like it was before, before that one-second delay. |

| A heavy load would be if you're doing a lot of multitasking or playing a game that your computer can barely run. It could just be that your computer is getting hot or you have too many applications opened. |

| Battlefield Play4Free? I can run that on High, and I only have that and Teamspeak open when I play. |

| the first time I had this same issue it was actually due to virus that was on my computer.
Then I got it again, and it was due to my cpu hitting over 90%.
its cause when your cpu starts to overheat, fans not working at all to keep it cool or the gpu is overheating causing it to work x2 as hard to keep stuff running.
Recommend looking through your computer and see if anything is broken or that it feels it shouldn't be overheating.
if nothing complies - Re - install your OS and see if it starts to happen again. If it does, i recommend getting a newer computer =D *never ever go to geek squad from bestbuy its cheaper to just by a computer at the end hahaha. |

| My uncle said he'll have a look (he's a computer engineer), so maybe he'll help.
Endrane, I searched through a few, about 6 posts, and they all suggest to disk clean and defrag. Which I already did.
My CPU/GPU shouldn't overheat since I added new cooling fans about 8 months ago. But my uncle and I will check again. Thanks though. |
