Ubisoft officially announced that there newest AC game will be focusing on the "piracy" aspect of the game. Probably incorporating treasure hunting and bigger naval battles.

More information should be released in the upcoming days.

What do you all think? I loved the naval battles in ACIII, but it was mostly because I was literally sailing in battles that were of huge consequence during the American Revolution. It was fun shooting the "heaters" from the Aquila too

Apparently someone uploaded the trailer early and it was quickly pulled down but apparently the game is scheduled for release on October 29th of this year....for current and next-gen consoles.

I think it needs to add something quite new to the franchise. The games are becoming a bit stale and repetitive in my opinion. Like many other game series.

I honestly thought it was a DLC the first time I scrolled past the Black Flag thing. And since it was just a DLC, or so I thought, I didn't bother looking at it.

And the idea doesn't convince me. All of you that have played ACIII, obviously should know how the story goes. And after that ending, I think the next game should be kinda "big", like ACI, II or III (Brotherhood and Revelations wasn't what I'd call "big"). But AC IV: Black Flag thing here really doesn't sound like a "big" one. I don't see how they can make an Assassin game when focusing on naval battles, treasure hunting and just basically pirates. Where does the Assassins's Creed and the templars get in the picture with pirates?

Allthough I really like the idea of pirate games and such, I wouldn't say Assassin's Creed is the right game to do this. But I guess we'll how to see how it looks in late October

Well, the storymakers sure seem to be able to work their magic with anything they're presented with. I still can't believe how long the story of ACII was.

I haven't played the other ACs, but the pirate style thing looks pretty cool imo

Here is a detailed look at what ACIV is going to offer and some explanations into the main storyline.

Seems like it will be a fun game and I'll still end up getting it, but I've got some reservations about where they're taking the story.

You'd probably be fighting all sorts in the Caribbean during the early 1700s. English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch.

All of them had staked a claim to various islands during this time period.
