So what did everyone think of this film?

I for one loved it and dont see any problems. Probably my favourite film with LOTR trilogy.

Yeah, the Hobbit itself is in 3 parts. Should be good to see them all.

The length of the entire book is the same as 1/3 Lord of the Rings, I don't know why they are trying to string it out. Bet it will be good though when I see it.

considering where the movie ends, it seems kinda a stretch to make two more movies

I thought it ended well and leaves the next part for a lot more

I was worried it would seem long for the sake of it, but there wasn't anything in there that I thought: 'this is just here to make it longer.' It all seems to have a purpose to it.

@Jester One of the movies is a lot more about what Gandalf does when he keeps leaving the dwarves, and stuff from 'Untold Tales'. The films all come under the title 'The Hobbit' but not everything is strictly from that.
