| Subject: A-Level choices Fri Jan 27, 2012 4:14 pm | |
| Hi, basically, I was after some opinion on what I should study for my A-Levels.
For those that aren't from the UK, A-Levels are studied in Sixth-Form, or college. Which is Year 12 and 13 (11th-12th Grade in the US I believe)
I want to study Physiotherapy at Univesity, and therefore I have to study Biology
My other choices I will currently go for are: History (Which allows me to develop analytical skills and is a dead certain choice for me) Physical Eductaion (although it is not seen as a biological science, it has modules on physiology which I believe will be of benefit as I want to study postgrad in a more sports realated field of Physiotherapy
And a Business and Management Cambridge Pre-U, which is not technically an A-Level. It is a two year linear course with all exams sat at the end of the 2nd year
My other two possibilities are Maths or French.
Business and Management (This Pre-U is a lot more highly regarded than the Business Studies A-Level, and the head of department at my school also writes the specification for the course) is the most likely subject I'd change to accomodate for either French or Maths.
What are peoples opinions? (Preferably people my age or people with knowledge of higher-education, but anyone is welcome to comment)
Thanks in advance |

| What are you hoping to go onto study? History is a fairly obvious choice for going onto good Universities it seems |

| Well good luck, you never know we might end up at the same place Basically, my French teacher thinks I should do that for A-Level, because languages are becoming a lot more useful now, and my history teacher thinks that maths might be a better option than the business and management Pre-U. Just because maths is a more 'traditional' subject and is well regarded. I think that I'd enjoy business more and it would be useful as there is significantly more money in private physiotherapy. Although some teachers have questioned whether I would need a Business and Management Pre-U to be good at Business |

| Well without being braggy, French is one of my best subjects and I'd be really surprised if I didn't get an A*. It's just I don't know if it's something I'll enjoy carrying on studying much, and languages can be learnt outside of school as well, this is why it's annoying picking my 4th choice |
