Modern Warfare 3 Released

Modern Warfare 3 is out and it’s here. Yet another anticipated sequel in the CoD Series has been released. Grab your copy; grab your controllers and lock 'n load. Just be sure to have some food and water next you. We wouldn't want you to go hungry or thirsty. Some 2700 Walmart are holding tournamets before midnight at 8pm. You get a t-shirt, patch, or poster.

But the release didn't go so quietly. Apparently there were thieves, stealing BLOPS when it came out and this time it's only bigger. There were some thieve who had stolen over 100 copies of BLOPS at gun point. This time it's 6,000 copies of MW3, in France, this past Saturday morning. No, they didn't just walking a building and demanded 6,000 copies. They rammed their car into a van loaded with thousands of copies in southern Paris.

There were two individuals who stepped out of the car. They seemed to have stepped out of a movie or game by wearing masks and using tear gas to get the truck drivers out. The value of shipment came to an estimated $550k USD or 400k Euros.

From the sounds of it, Activision won't feel the hit that much with reports coming in that Pre-orders are over the 25 million copies BLOPS did and past the pre-order record holder of MW2 in 2009 that went on to earn over $1 billion in sales.

This CoD: MW3 was not an easy road. Two Infinity Ward executives was fired towards the beginning of making MW3 for breaching contract in meeting up with EA about their newly create studio, Respawn Entertainment. Their studio is/was to create games to be published by EA. A lot of Infinity Ward employees left, which forced the remaining to bring in Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. The two former Infinity employees is now perusing a lawsuit against Activision for $36 million in unpaid "Modern Warfare" royalties and has a hearing this May. This sounds sort of like Duke Nukem doesn't it? This would also make sense as to why Treyarch is to pick up on the next CoD installment or perhaps it was just their turn.

It'll be quite suspenseful to see how these moments will affect the CoD franchise as well as to jump in the game and see what Activision hasn't shown us in their videos. It would also be interesting to see what numbers MW3 pulls in for copies sold and money made.

So how many of you have pre-ordered or will be waiting in line at midnight to get your copy of MW3? How many will get it later or not get it at all? Who will jump into multiplayer or into single player first?

When I get MW3, I will probally do the Campaign on Vetera, try out multiplayer, then go and beat the spec-ops game modes.

Well I pre-ordered it but my copy is coming on the 14th... so I have to wait till Monday to get it an I HATE mondays. But hopfully it will be worth it. I will play Multiplayer first then single player(love it) then Spec ops with some pals.

Over 25 million preorders? I think it's only about 2x more than BF3.

There's no way there's 25 million pre orders. BF3 had only 3 million. I just read that it is 3 times BF3 though, with about 9 million pre-orders. Most people don't pre order the game I think.

Marcuz, careful, they'll track you down man! Nice sigs by the way! And I thought we lost or didn't have artists.

Well Duh Delta, it's obvious MW3 will sell more than BF3; it always has. But up until BF3 release and even now still, BF2 is still being played. But I can bet that BF2 has more people playing it than people playing MW or MW2 or more comparatively CoD 2 being both released in 2005.

Well their are over 3000 players play COD1 and COD W@W has over 12,000 active players.

Umm... ahhhh. I must of read something wrong somewhere, because reports are saying MW3 pre-orders reached 9 milllion. Looking for where I got the 25 from.

Found it, 25 million is BLOPS total sold, not pre-orders. Anaylst spectulate that MW3 will sell more than 25 million copies.... just read it wrong that's all.

So MW3 hits 9 million pre-orders
MW2 has about 4.5
and BLOPS, although I've found plenty of places that say it beat MW2, I can't find one to give me a number.

Been playing,it's pretty much:

1.Spawn
2.Sit in corner
3. Wait until someone runs by and misses you because of sucky F.O.V
4.Get Uber 1337 killstreaks
5.Repeat

not the biggest CoD fan im more of a BF3 guy but i think im gonna get CoD when the price drops just casue you can do in house multiplayer which no other games nowdays seem to have

I downloaded Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 RELOADED and I can't play in multiplayer,but i can play only
CO-OP, in LAN(with Hamachi 2 or Tunngle, with a program:Teknogods 1.3), but I really want to play ONLINE, on servers, not in LAN. I don't play with STEAM, 'cause I don't have STEAM and I don't need that program. I want to play in multiplayer online without STEAM.

More than likely if you didn't buy a legitimate copy of MW3 than you'll need to purchase an online pass to play online.
