Call of Duty: Modern Wafare 3 - New Updates... Finally! Written by: SGT Trister
No, we haven't forgotten about CoD:MW3. There just really hasn't been much news on MW3 and they have seemed to just fall dormant... until now.
New Video A new Mulitiplayer video has been released recently showing, still more of the cinematics rather than actual game play. But as pointed out by one of our members there is also another video that does show actual game play.
Does this video prove what has been speculated; that it's just another MW2 with a lift? Does it still seem interesting enough to buy? Only you can be the judge of that.
CoD:MW3 Shades Gunnar Optiks, manufacture of glasses for computers, gaming, 3d, and outterwear, is once again making limited edition gaming glasses for MW3 just as it did for BLOPS. These will cost you $99 and supposedly make you see better and protect your eyes from long hours of screen exposure from duress.

Dedicated Servers During GamesCom it was confirmed that MW3 will have dedicated servers for their PC edition in showing PC gamers that Activision is serious about PCs. Although a common concern arises with players cheating and are working on a solution now and stated MW3 will not be released without being able to ensure a fair fight for players. Mmmm looks to me there could be a possible delay.
CoD:Elite Prizes Activision's Call of Duty Elite site is claiming to be giving away many, many prizes in contests. And if you don't win, you'll be able to see who did. They are claiming to have budgeted millions and millions for real-world prizes. Nothing has been mentioned, as of yet, the type of prizes they'll be offering.
Tidbits Commandos has been removed which some claim will balance out the game more and doesn't seem it'll be missed all that much, if at all.
MW3 will also be released for the Nintendo Wii and plan to be release the same day as the other platform; but don't hold your breathe.
Xbox is to release a new MW3 bundle with 320GB, MW3 game, custom design box and controllers (2), even franchise-specific boot sounds. It'll be released Nov 8th, 2011 for $400.
And, with an interview by OXM from creative strategist Robert Bowling states:
"You can now fold down your magnifying scope and already have a close-range optic on your gun - so now you're engaging guys close-target without having to change weapons."
MW3 will also feature a new kind of high-tech grenade launcher, the XM25 air burst grenade launcher, aka the "Punisher." "If a guy is behind a concrete barrier, you can laser-tag that cover point, fire over it and it will then program the round to explode one meter past it."
Mountain Dew
Mountain Dew is jumping in the MW3 advertisment scene... again, with the drink's label sporting the Call of Duty MW3 logo on it. Not only that, which isn't a very significant but, Mtn Dew is also offering Double XP starting in Octber when their new drinks are released. More can read about it here
The Next CoD The biggest rumor found is that Treyarch has placed a few jobs specifically requesting people with COD knowledge by requiring applicatants to have for the "Lead Multiplayer Designer" position, "An expert understanding of the Call of Duty game universe" and a position for a "Game Designer/Scripter". It also states a duty of "research subject matter for history and look of the level", which could suggest the next CoD will be sometime in the past. Hmmm, maybe another CoD3? The ad is shown on Treyarch's and Gamesutra's websites. Both Infinity Ward and Treyarch has been trading the production of COD and they have been coming out with one every year. The assumption here, if you haven't gotten it yet, is that the next release of CoD could possibly be made by Treyarch with the follow compnay notation:
“With a successful track record, extensive infrastructure, and strong management, Treyarch has the solid foundation it needs to pioneer the Call of Duty franchise in the future.“
Lets just hope they'll use a different engine or a completly revamped one and make the game brand new and fresh. For the most part MW3 has remained low key in comparison to BF3 to which only specualtion can be made to the reasons why.

Fanboys are the most annyoing things in the world for example *EW MW3 Just looks like mw2 its going to suck battlefield 3 kicks it but* but they probablyhavent even played the orginal bc1 or bf2. But i dont fall into the fanboy catagory because im getting both, im acctually quite excited for mw3, it looks interesting

never thought of it like that, but think of those two as a walkway to what mw3 is gonna be! i like all the call of duty's from the first one on ps2 to black ops. i think mw2 is the best one and i cant wait to see the new things they put onto 3. DLC.....wtf haha

People essentially buy the same game with Madden every year and I don't hear as much complaining with that franchise as I do with COD. They still shell out the money for it and list its pros and cons and yet I still don't hear the scrutiny and criticism than what I hear with COD.
I've always enjoyed the franchise ever since the very first installment.
MW3 is too big to be a DLC and too small to be a completely different game, IMO. That in itself shouldn't be a reason to make or break the game.

Ha Projekt, never crossed my mind and it's true. It's the exact same game with an updated roaster, maybe better graphics and animations, and a sprinkle of added features.
Perhaps it's all about expectations and that MW3 didn't add up to them.
I might get it, I mean I have from CoD 3 and on. I got heavy into CoD3 & WaW but, as for MW1&2 and BLOPS, I lost interest as I kept dying way to many times and as soon as hitting the start button. Spawn dead, spawn dead, spwan take a step dead. I couldn't find a way out of it, no matter how long I played it for. Ok so I'm exaggerating slightly but, it sure felt like I was dying every second.

This is why I play Madden 95 still instead of getting 17 new games :p. All I have to do is make new players every year. (Lol i dont think you can do that in 95). But last one I played on PC was like 06 or something (still installed here). Do they even sell the new ones still for PC?

Ah well the XM25 ABGL.. personaly I don't have anything against grenade launchers, and I enjoyed this weapon in MGS4, but a 6 round dedicated grenade launcher in a game like CoD? I think people gonna hate on it
