| hey guys anyone heard of hp getting out of the pc bussiness?? it happened like over saturday or frieday?(forgot sorry) anyways their hp touchpad tablet is now 100$ for the 16gb and the 32gb for 150$ most retail sores are out of stock because soo many pelople have bought them also some greedy people have bought 10 tablets a customer most put them on ebay at like 300 or higher since they cant get a refund from hp or the store they bought it from so since alot of people want the tablet their willing to pay double or triple what their worth now  soo anyone ganna try and get one of these?? make sure u call to check for availabilty and price of it  btw DO NOT BUY from ebay or amazon until their prices go down to 100 or 150

| Hp aren't going out of business their just pulling out from certain aspects of their market  . Should've stuck with printers |

| no, they aren't going out of business, the are just doing what IBM did a few years ago. The are just pulling out of the public sector and being exclusive to businesses |

| Yeah I heard this on the news last week. Story is they spent millions maybe billions to compete with the iPad and didn't make enough profits. So they are getting out of the PC business. They are either going to shut it down or sell it off to someone.
mmm maybe compaq is coming back? |

| The Touchpad seems like a waste, even at $99. You are buying a tablet, which is supposed to have sub-par build quality, and runs an operating system (Web OS) that, with HP's announcement, is dead. Meaning that updates == not likely, developer support == will probably come to a halt, meaning that there won't be that many new apps coming in (which is not good, as Web OS never had a big app store to begin with), and customer support == good luck.
I don't think buying into a dead operating system is such a good idea. Although you can get it and hack it, flash Android or Linux on it or something, it isn't the greatest idea, as the hardware wasn't that great to begin with, from what I have read online, the thing felt kind of cheap, which is not good. I know the price is nice, but hold out for a real tablet, one running a non dead Operating System (such as Android, iOS, QNX, or Windows 8 ), and some nicer hardware. |
