Chapter 1: Know your Shotgun
Section 1A: Introduction: Knowing your Shotgun and it's limits are Important in BC2. Shotguns are manly used when times there is going to be some CQB going on. Shotguns dominate with a quick reflex and a trigger finger. This tactics guide will help you with knowing how to use shotguns.

Section 1B: Different kinds of Shotguns: There's a couple of shotguns to chose from, like the simple and powerful 870 Combat , or the underdog SPAS-12 Combat, or you can have the unusual but quick NEOSTEAD 2000 Combat , or maybe you want the Auto but not accurate USAS-12 Auto , or maybe you want to fit in with the crowd and go with the Saiga 20k Semi. All these Shotguns are made for one thing, Close Quarter Combat.

It IS good against Infantry
It is NOT good against Armor (None of them are)
It IS popular with newer players
It CAN'T shoot in Semi-Auto

SPAS-12 Combat
It IS accurate
It IS good for assaulting a building

Saiga 20k Semi
It is NOT accurate
It IS good for assaulting for assaulting a building

USAS-12 Combat
It is NOT accurate
It is NOT good for assaulting a building
It is NOT good against Infantry
It IS good against Armor
It is NOT popular with newer players
It CAN shoot in Semi-Auto

NEOSTEAD 2000 Combat
It IS accurate
It IS good for assaulting a building
It IS good against Infantry
It is NOT good against Armor
It is NOT popular with newer players
It CAN'T shoot in Semi-Auto

Chapter 2: Maps
Section 2A: Know your Map: Knowing your playing field can change the way you use your shotgun. Like knowing a way on sneaking into Zone 4 in Port Valdez, or finding a way to sneak in Zone 1 in Arica Harbor. Getting to know the map is easy as tieing your shoe, I mean easy by playing the map multiple times. Maybe you want to charge a M-COM or you want to take a Flag. It does go good with all the classes, except for Recon.

Chapter 3: Tactics
Section 3A: Rushing: Rushing with a Shotgun is fun and rewarding, if you do it right. When you are Rushing, try going when they don't except it. Or when they are under heavy fire. When you are Rushing a Flag in Conquest, try moving around and don't stand still! Grenades are also helpful when you want to Coax out a enemy in hiding.

Section 3B: Sneaking: Sneaking is another key factor in owning with the Shotgun. Doing this is too NOT fire when there's noone there, you're just wasting ammo. DO go on paths where noone uses. DON'T let the enemy see you. DO storm a building with a mate or in surprise.

Section 3C: Assaulting: Assaulting a building requires Teamwork, Quick Reflexes, a Quick Trigger Finger, and a Shotgun. Try attacking from behind a building to catch them in surprise, or attack them as a team by using tactics.

Chapter 4: Shotgun Perks
Section 4A: Slugs: Slugs (A.K.A Another way to die) are pretty useless for shotguns, unless you can aim pretty fast and steady. Slugs also lower the damage of the shotgun in close range. It also makes it hard to aim, causing you to die pretty quickly.

Section 4B: Magazine Upgrade: This Perk is Important when it comes to fighting with shotguns. It's also another great idea to combine this with the Perk that gives you more ammo. Magazine Upgrade + Ammo Upgrade = Crazy Delicious!

I am definitely with you shocky. I am the worst shotgunneir ever known to walk the battlefield world hahaha. Very nice guide though. I think I am going to use the SPAS-12.

Hey!
I object! Recon is the class where knowing your map is most important! If you want to plant an MCom as Recon, you gotta be able to go silent and go low. Too bad theres no silenced pistols...

Nice job on the guide Freddy, gotta love those shotguns. Keep up the interesting guides man. However i gotta say whenever i see snipers with shotguns it just makes me want to put a pistol to my snipers head.

It could have been simpler, and in some parts you just sound like an idiot.

And people like you Complaining about 'Lag' are not really helping the cause. Good Riddance. You show off. And the Truth? You sound more of a Lier then a person that tells the truth. Just because you left the Squad, doesn't mean you should Slam me about how you're better and all. You Fail.

Guys, it takes a lot of effort to make a guide. We should all try to contribute some knowledge for upcoming guides, and help out whoever is making them.
Do you plan on making more guides Ferddy?

The easiest way to avoid conflict in a situation like this is to Wikify everything then people with a position on something can discuss / edit an item until it's accurate. Wether you agree or disagree with his position it seems to me that Ferd has put a lot of time into generating these guides and if we can, by collaborative working, assist him in the task he has taken on then I think that would be the best way to move forward.

You can get free wiki hosting from a number of places, if you guys want I can create one for the 13th and after learning a bit of Wiki syntax we can all contribute to a source of information that changes as the game changes.

come on pig you always don't have to be so mean to people. Were just all trying to share a little of our each experiences and give it to the clan. My medic guide, this shotgun guide, house clearing guides. It doesn't matter if the guide is 100% true as long as you learn something new from it. And you don't have to be "qualified" to make a guide. You do it at your own will. If the guide is bad give them some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Instead of saying there guide is a P.O.S.

Sure. I do plan on making more guides. I just need more Ideas. :\

If I give you constructive criticism about something that doesn't mean you should get defensive and bark back at me.

And it does matter if I had more experience with shotguns than you, hell, you're writing a guide about how to use them! Experience should obviously be a necessity!

I try to give you my honest opinion about your guide, and just because it isn't, "Wow this is so awesome," you think I'm flaming you.

The bottom line is you needed to do more research.

(And about Havok and I leaving the squad over technical problems in BC2? My game won't even go online. The one match I did get into I got kicked from, put back into, kicked from again, and then my PS3 froze when I tried again. Happy you stupid F***?)
