E3 2012 June 4-7

We are only 3 days away from this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), and we want to know what you guys think about it. What games are you looking forward to most? What hardware are you looking forward to the most? What announcements would you like to see?

E3 this year will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, June 4-7. This year's show feature 191 Exhibitors, the main exhibitors being:

So what new shooters do we expect to see this year? Let's take a quick look.

Far Cry 3-Ubisoft


Far Cry 3 will see the series return to the series' roots somewhat, as you are stranded on a tropical island. This is no sequel though; there is an original plot, new characters and new motivations. You play Jason Brody, who has been shipwrecked and captured by modern-day pirates. The game is expected to be a mix of linear, story-lead gameplay and an open sandbox island.


Halo 4-Microsoft Studios



Halo 4 will see a new enemy facing the humans, but the return of the covenant has not been ruled out. The game's multiplayer and single-player will work as standalone pieces, but they are going to be intertwined.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Patriots-Ubisoft


The latest Tom Clancy game sees the return of the Rainbow Six team, as they try to combat the 'True Patriots' terrorist group in New York.

ARMA III-Bohemia Interactive



The military simulation is expected to show features such as swapping kits with fallen enemy soldiers and enhanced projectile ballistics.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2-Activision



This will see the franchise move into a future based setting, with armies of unmanned vehicles and weaponry.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter-EA Games



With the last Medal of Honor underperforming in terms of critic reviews, can the Frostbite 2.0 engine make this new title a winner?

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2-City Interactive



Sniper: Ghost Warrior was generally not too well received, City Interactive will be hoping the sequel performs better.

Metro: Last Light-THQ



Bioshock: Infinite



BioShock Infinite introduces an entirely new narrative experience that lifts players out of the familiar confines of Rapture and rockets them to Columbia, an immense city in the sky.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive-Valve



Not a completely brand new game, but a reworking of the original to bring improvements both in the gameplay and visuals. Also to be released on consoles.

We can also expect to see an announcement by EA on the upcoming Battlefield Premium service as well as more information on the Close Quarters, Armored Kill, End Game and the rumored 5th DLCs. Dice have confirmed that they are taking playable versions of 'Close Quarters' and 'Armored Kill' to E3.


Hardware

E3 2012 could be quite interesting on the hardware front. Nintendo are expected to announce more information on the 'Wii U' although this will not include a price or release date.
One question that is being asked is: 'Will there be any announcement on a new Xbox or new PlayStation console?' Microsoft and Sony have both said that they will not be making further announcements at E3, but who knows, they may surprise us.

Possible announcements

These games are not confirmed but we should expect to see at least some of them:

• Dead Space 3-Rumoured to be going into a first-person view.
  
• Splinter Cell 6-Ubisoft are working on the project, but will it be featured at E3?
  
• Diablo 3 (Xbox360, PS3)-With the PC server issues largely fixed, Blizzard may announce their console version of the game.
  
• Homeland 2-An unlikely announcement, however as THQ have been focusing on their core games, don't write it off.
  
• Alan Wake 2-Microsoft is being tight-lipped on any sequel, but they always are.
  
• Dragon Age 3-Staff were advertised for over a year ago, has the game been developed enough for a showing?
  

Valve has announced that there will be no new games shown at E3 2012, so no Half-Life 3, Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. Instead, they say they will be focusing on Counter-Strike: Go and Dota 2.

Some are suggesting announcements of Fallout 4 and Battlefield: Bad Company 3, but this is very unlikely.

Im pretty sure Im gonna be the only one interested in what Nintendo is packing for the WiiU

Really anticipating titles such as:

Medal of Honor: Warfighter
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Patriots
Counter Strike: Global Offensive
Halo 4

As for hardware, WiiU looks interesting, but that's about it.

I wish there was going to be a Mafia III.

But, I am looking foward to MoH: WF, and CoD: BO2.

Please let there be a Mafia III.

ARMA 3 baby! I can't wait for that, be the first pc game i ever played if i get it

man i hope we get a division for that

For me it's arma 3. Simulated war can't get any more real. I hope the 13th gets into this one. It just looks so massive.

That sounds cool and alongside arma3 i would love to beta test Planetside2 Asap!

I'm really looking forward to Dota 2, currently in da Beta.

Interested only in Halo 4, not really into this year's COD.

+1 on the CoD part. It doesn't look good to me, but we will see...

Gotta be Arma 3, Medal of Honor and Rainbow Six. I think I'm one of the few that really enjoyed the last MoH.

It'd be awesome to run a huge operation on Arma 3

I'm looking forward to Arma 3, although I will never be able to play it

I'm just wondering, there's nothing there about GTA 5... That's what I'm looking forward to the most.

I was writing the article based on the FPS genre, there are simply too many if I tried to write about all the games which people are looking forward to. We are an FPS clan, after all

Damn they gonna have some pretty good games coming....

It's not ruled out Splinter. It took them a while to make Mafia II and there's obviously a huge cliffhanger at the end of Mafia II that screams for a third. I just haven't heard rumors about development.

I'm also looking forward to the new MoH and BO2 but I believe Bioshock Infinite got delayed until next year if I'm not mistaken.

Damn it where's my Half Life 3!?

I'm definitely intrigued about Half Life 3. That's probably the biggest game with rumors swirling. However, I haven't heard really anything confirmed about the game.

Valve have confirmed there will be no HF:4, L4D:3 or Portal: 3, as they're are focusing on Dota 2 and CS: GO. They might surprise us though (hopefully)

I think Bioshock is still gonna be out before the next E3 surely?

I believe Bioshock Infinite is slated to come out February 26th of next year. Article here.

Wow that slipped past us then, I guess Bioshock can be removed from this list. Interesting to see when they will be showing Bioshock then, it's out before next E3
