| Im still havent got home but ill post a ss tonight. Im gonna get a new pc within 6 months. I know the dual core 2.4 can be overclocked pretty good so why not get some more out of it I did overclock my graphics card for 240 mhz more I think 3.0ghz should be possible or even 2.8 im happy aswell. Its just the thing with the adding volts i am a bit scared of |

| Actually, it seems like the default voltages of GPUs and CPUs are set with a good amount of headroom available for more power. I can usually overclock with the same voltage or add like a hundreth of a voltage and still have it stable. After a certain voltage, it just causes extra heat and no added performance. |

| Make sure you have enough cooling power; on my other computer I tried overclocking with a stock fan and it shut off...luckily it had a motherboard sensor that automatically turned the computer off after it hit 90 degrees celsius |

| Well, you have different kinds of Core 2 Duo's like: Core 2 Duo E4300 Core 2 Duo E4400 Core 2 Duo E4500 Core 2 Duo E6300 Core 2 Duo E6320 Core 2 Duo E6400 Core 2 Duo E6420 Core 2 Duo E6600 Core 2 Duo E6550 Core 2 Duo E6700 Core 2 Duo E6750 Core 2 Duo X6800 Core 2 Duo E6850 Core 2 Duo E7400 Core 2 Duo E8200 Core 2 Duo E8300 Core 2 Duo E8400 Core 2 Duo E8500 Core 2 Duo E8600
Those are all the Core 2 Duo's :PSo my question is: Which one do you have? If you dont know where you can see that do this: start/right click "computer"/properties there you can find the info. |

| I believe you can overclock the E6400 to 1,35V, with 2.8 to 3.0 Ghz. BUT, you need an aftermarket CPU cooler to overclock. Otherwise your PC will overheat and crash. |

| Well spend a bit more time about reading and learning about overclocking.
Finaly found enough confidence in myself to start this adventure, make notes and calculations so that i was sure i would "get it".
Installed the software needed (cpu-z, core temp, cpu stress program etc) Rebooted pc, entered bios.
Trololol cant edit in this bios, all locked, fml.
Fixed new mb from my bro who was getting a new pc, also got his two 2gb ram modules.
Turns out mb doesnt fit, and ram modules run at 800mhz whilst mine can only handle 667mhz.
Haha really need a new pc. |
