These threads are always interesting, why do you use your current name? Where did it come from? I find the origin of your username stories to be interesting and helps you get to know your clan mates.

My name Spino Prime came from two places. "Spino" is short for Spinosaurus, the greatest dinosaur EVER. When I created my username I was a pretty big Jurassic Park fan and knew quite a bit about dinosaurs. Spinosaurus was my favorite dinosaur, largely due to the fact that it looked very cool, and it murderized the T-Rex in JP3.


The second part of my name "Prime" came from a very different place. It is a common misconception that Prime came from the Transformer "Optimus Prime" and think I am a big Transformers fan. That is actually NOT where the Prime came from at all. It was taken from my favorite trilogy in gaming ever, that being the Metroid Prime series. Metroid Prime has been quite a large part of my childhood and I love all the games in the trilogy equally for their strengths and differences.


Here is what Metroid Prime actually looks like. It is the final boss in the first Metroid Prime. It also *spoilers* turns into Dark Samus */spoilers*.

When I started using the internet I only used Spino as my name. Just my current first name, as my username. That changed however when I started playing my favorite online multiplayer game "Garry's Mod". In case you haven't played Gmod, one of the games strengths is that you can use LUA to custom program new game types. In my search to find servers with new unique game types, I stumbled upon a server hosting what they called "Serious RP". At the server that was hosting this, they required you have a first name and last name, so I decided on Prime as my last name.

So what are the stories behind your names?

I was playing splintercell, and wanted to make a youtube, but that name was taken, as was the plural form, so I just added a "z" and wala, I have a username that I can use freely!

I use two names Grim Reefer is the name of my first and most favorite bong that my mom found and shattered on the ground in front of me as she chuckled and called me an idiot and a pothead. and what better way that to honor my bong by making it my name so it will always be remembered. I had a picture of it as my profile pic but I guess it wasnt appropriate.

and SpartonX can from 2 things. My first game I EVER played was Halo: Combat Evolved where I completely became obsessed with the Halo universe. That game was just so amazing and back then itlooked like something from a dream. and also I spell Sparton with an O and not an A because when I played Halo: CE i was still a little kid (Like 8 or 10) and didnt know how to spell it and well it caught on and havent changed it and the 'X' comes from my most favorite book ever that truly changed me in a way, Soldier X by Don Wulfson. That book was just amazing! It takes place near the end of WWII (When Germany begins to loose the war) and its about a kid who gets sent to the Eastern Front (the kid is a German BTW) and during a battle he is caught behind enemy lines badly wounded when he takes the uniform of a Russian soldier and then taken by Russian medics to a hospital where he has to pretend he has amnesia and to act like a German.
Oh and the kid is half russian half german who speaks fluent Russian and German. What a coincidence! hahaha Great great great book! I highly reccomend it to anyone who loves brutal war books. and even if you dont like to read, youll like this. I cant stand reading but ive read that book like 20 times now. I actually just finished reading it again like last week hahaha. Im straying from the point... Ima go now

Im sure everyone wants to know where I got my name

One day after playing a couple rounds of Halo 3 I saw someone who had a pretty funny name that went with the "was killed by" whenever someone died like " xX1337Xx was killed by The Village Idiot" I thought it was pretty funny so I decided that I had outgrown my last name (Which Shall never be uttered by me again) and I began trying random things I saw while playing, and I eventually saw a pine tree on Avalanche, so I tried "a tree", and of course it was taken, and I really wanted that name lol, but I also wanted something original, so I thought "what would motivate a tree to kill someone?" and I came up with "A Bipolar Tree" xD

Wanted to use my name been using the same SN since I was 12, playing socom 2 online.

I am Cmdr.Ghost xD

Cmdr: Abbreviation for Commander. I always found this word to be unique. It can be a rank, as in the US Navy, or it can be a title used in any of the branches, regardless of rank. So I chose that to be part of my name.

Ghost: Well I picked this for 2 reasons. First one is that I find myself to be a Ghost at times. People never notice me, and even my friends don't notice me as well if i see them at the store or something. I am 19 years old and really short. With a beard I look like my age, if I am clean shaven, I can easily go into a restaurant or movies and get pricing for kids (which i take advantage of frequently ). Second reason is I like the Ghost Recon series.

since being here i have used 2 names one being Raven1s. Raven is my fav bird and the 1s is because evrytime i used Raven it was taken so just added 1s at the end i have outgrown that name as raven is comeing to common,

So now called UnlitAssassin my nick name in darts is Dark Assassin as for the first reason i talk alot about Assassin's Creed and that when i do go and play darts i wear my black shirt i have tryed Dark Assassin online but that is always in use, so went for something else that is like Dark and there we go Unlit is born.

My nick "blackb0rn" comes from the name of a character in a movie called "Black Hawk Down". That character is a rookie soldier of 18 who joined the U.S. Army, and his nickname of the mission for the film was "blackborn". In fact, during the mission he had an accident and he has to return to the base. I recommend watching the movie because it's pretty good. There is even a game based on the film which was the first game I played online on the Internet about 4 years ago. The game is called "Delta Force Black Hawk Down".

I have always been a bit paranoic about giving personal info and I used to try a different nick with every game I played. I eventually came to a point where I ran out of ideas and patience, so I wrote several random names; nmd looked the best.
When I tried registering at a game's page —I think it was Rappelz— I got the "You need atleast 4 characters" so I just added 12345.

I rarely change my nick now... cool thread by the way.

Cmdr. - Actually, weirdly, almost exactly the same reason as Ghost. I have always been fascinated by this unique rank, what it resembled, & why so many forms of command use it. I always loved the abbrievation & ever since I started gaming I took it on.

Michael- My IRL name Is Michael, and for some reason, Cmdr. Michael clicked for me, in an odd way, it sounded perfect to me. So I choose Cmdr. Michael.

Probably be the name I will go by in gaming for ever, I take great honor in claiming it.

P.S: Haha me & Ghost are the 2 Cmdr.'s, he will tell you, we haven't met before, so choosing the same name for the same reason is purely coincidental.

P.S 2.0: Anyone remember Cmdr. Michelle? I swear I had nothing to do with that person. You kicked her off this clan like a bunch of 10 year old kids, it still pisses me off. Bronx had even found that our IPs were not the same. I swear I had nothing to do with her. Even though she belonged in my squad, was a girl, had the same name as me except in female terms, & played BC2 PC. That really pissed me off. And the simple apology from Bronx didn't really cut it for me. I was so amazed to have someone with the same name, same squad, and a female, join the clan. Well, this has been my main alias for shooters for YEARS, and its rarely a taken name. If it is, I just add TheIronBat too it. But as for the tale-

Growing up my two favorite superheros were Batman, and Ironman. Don't know why but I guess I just like the fact they were normal people applying themselves. And I always thought, it would be awesome if Ironman was combined with Batman. And so, IronBat was born. I've adopted more the the background, where in real game the characters last name is Taborin, which can be broken down into IronBat. I've also adopted the skull face as the main appearence of my character, with bat wings thrown in their, kind of like the avenged sevenfold logo. It was purely coincidence that they ended up having the same logo as me, but I have come to like their music a lot. So yeah

Believe it or not, Roughneck is a nickname I picked up after I read Heinlein's Starship Troopers back in 1988. And yes, at the time, I realized a roughneck is a worker on a crew drilling oil wells and all, but it also is a rough or uncouth person. Which was my style, MO if you will, back while I played football. I even managed a men's softball and baseball team called as such. So with the release of the movie in 1997, "roughneck" became that much cooler, at least to me, lol.

well i have 3 name flame211 F4llenSoldier96 and....... Blaze
i used blaze as my first online gaming name but after i got a new game it was taken so i entered Blaze211 (yea starting to see a connection ) so i went with that for around 2 years and after an unfortunate accident i had to abandon Blaze211(the accident will never be spoken of by me) and i quit gameing for around half a year then after that i went on meh comp and found BFH and since i couldent use blaze u used flame211 and u can all make the REALLY close connection between the 2 ok so when i was at meh friends house i made an account on his xbox 360 so then i got mine (at the time i didnt know how to recover a gamertag) so i said to my self (yes im crazy xD) i like war but i also want to remmember Flame211 so i cam up with F4llenSoldier96 <-----(my birthday aug/14/96) thats how my names were created

so i was playing fallout new vegas and thinking of bears i just got done lighting some one on fire then I went to the casino and got 777 which = 21 so i put all these crazy things together and got Flaming Bear21 but now i go buy FlamingBear on PC games But XBL i go buy Flaming Bear21 pretty strange story but i think its cool
